The new break down is: 2 hrs per corner for fronts, 2 hrs for rear, 1 hr for alignment, 1.2 hrs for road force balance (my request), 1hr grill install, 3 hr calibration. So far, I think everything is installed. They just need to calibrate, adjust headlights, and align it. Oh, and I’m having to fight the warranty battle on my own for my 23 day old Ridge Grappler that is too far out of round to balance. So, I just told them to order a new one. At this point, what’s another $250...

That is crazy time for all four corners. I did Bilstein's with OME 887 in a backyard with help from someone with basic tools and jack in half that time. I would try and get them to cut some of that labor time.

Isn't there a standard book time on this? I'd tell them you only want to pay that and not the time it takes them to learn how to do it.

If I were a betting man I would say near the same.
The toyota service manual IPB shows the hats backwards of the way the should be installed. That's probably what's fucking them up. It got me at first also.

Edit: Or their following the Toyota instructions step by step and disassembling the whole suspension needlessly.

When Toyota announced the lift they stated 4 hours I believe. Dealers should be forced to honor that.

Man so do you have an agreed upon price OTD or are you paying 10+ hours of labor?

I am still toying with the idea of this for my 2020, but I haven't even been able to get a total price from either of my dealerships in town. One told me the TSS sensor calibration is 4 hours by itself. :notsure:

I had a quote, but it keeps getting revised. I’ll probably have 12 hrs of labor in it.

    This is BS
They should have had at least one tech from each dealer take a course on this install.
I'm glad I only paid $1995 installed no tax in NH

good lord. Toyota is either highway robbery on this install to make a ton off the install or they just dont think their techs can do it in a reasonable amount of time.

Why are they working on the rear axle? All the problems appeared to be a result of the front spring lower cups being mounted upside.

If they can't handle a simple suspension install imagine how they will do trying to resolve some warranty claim down the road???

Glad I just purchased the Bilstein 6112/5160 suspension and installed it myself for $1000 while getting a much better suspension kit than the low level TRD product that is just a huge profit margin for the dealers..

I preinstalled the cups correctly before I dropped the truck off. As far as I know there is no problem with that.

It's just a simple strut replacement for the front and a rear block. Better to have done the Bilstein and an off road specialist do the job.

Someone who has had this done in a state where they require the fog light removal - I assume it is very easy to put them back in? Just take the blank cover out, reinstall the fogs (which they damn well better give back to you), and plug them back in? I'd assume they don't do something that permanently gets rid of them like removing the harness for them completely or the like?

    A few.
I would think they just tie up the wires and install the new bezels in the bumper.
I find it intersting that there worried about removing the fog lights but nothing about headlight adjustment.

4Runner SEMA wheels. TRD Factory lift kit.
Good way to describe the lift. I had it installed when my wife was out of town using a bank account that she doesn’t look at. I also had tires and wheels installed when she was gone. I told her about the tires/wheels, but not about the $2200 lift. I blamed the “new look” on the tires and wheels and kept the lift a secret. It wasn’t so obvious that she questioned it. She did mention that “it looks nice. I don’t think you will need a lift with the new tires and wheels.” I still sleep fine.
