So does anyone know how diff the TRD tuned Bilsteins are from 5100’s? And would preloading oem coils be better than getting longer ones like 887’s?

Bilsteins 5100s on the top setting, 4runner Gray TRD Pro Sema wheels, 285/70/17 Toyo AT3s, Sumo Bump stops, TRD exhaust, ECGS Clamshell bushing, 1/4 shim for the lean and one inch rear block, OEM Pro grill and garnish OEM TRD Skid plate, TRD CAI, Demon Brackets, Rigid Industries Pro fog lights, OEM Trail Rails sidebars, Diode Dynamics LED SL1 high and low beam lights, OEM Roof racks, Clazzio leather heated seats, Remote Start, TRD Pro shift knob, tinted windows, Rockford Fosgate 4 channel amp for the headunit and sub and amp combo, OEM Puddle lights, OEM tailgate lock, OEM bed mat, LED interior lights, OEM blackout kit for letters, JLT catch can, upgraded 27F toyota True Start battery, Vleds led tail light kit with Pro tail lights, OEM Rave4 side mirrors with convex spotters, just to name a few mods.
Your not pre loading the coils, keep your oem springs. Bilstein designed the shocks to be used with the OEM coils and the TRD front struts only have 4 setting unlike the 5 settings on the 5100s. The ride stays the same no matter what clip/perch they are on. OME coils sag over time. Do some research as you will see the coils are not pre loaded, that where people are miss led.

So the TRD lift would be the better option?

I think its over priced and with 4 settings versus 5 on the 5100s I would think the Bilsteins are a better deal, plus they offer a life time warranty when used with the factory coils.

Well I’m only looking for 2 inch max and it’s on sale right now for $1055. Price aside what about the lift quality? The dealer warranty sounds good also as I’ve read of the potential issues with lifts.

It’s 3 settings on the TRD shocks, not 4. Not like it matters though hehe. I can’t imagine 99% of people doing 5100s or any other adjustable shock are changing the setting after setting it up the first time.

Probably have 3k miles on my 2” TRD lift setup. Very happy.

Anyone doing aftermarket UCA after install?

Just did the lift kit on a 21 nightshade, with KO2s 265/70/18.

Love it, looks badass, and rides better then the floaty factory shocks. I do get slight rub on the UCA with the wheel maxed out turning in reverse. Wondering if anyone is getting a little more clearance.

Yes, but do you think the average TW enjoyer would be able to live with themselves with mismatched shocks?

I know I couldn't. Would drive me insane!!!

Bilsteins should be about $450 and one inch rear block should be $80. You can probably get the lift and installed for under a grand.

and the TRD grill is how much? Another 400-500 bucks and a dealer warranty? I’ve never had a truck with a lift I read about potential issues that come with that.

Yeah I'm pretty sure a legit oem pro grill is about 400 from Toyota. If you can get this kit for 1,100-1,200 you also get the new front sensor, fog light covers, and suspension parts for 700-800. Personally I don't think that's bad for OEM

Not sure if you can still do it or not, but I only bought the shocks from Toyota and it was around $400. Could be another option if they still offer the shocks as a bundle or as individual units. Good luck!

That’s what I was thinking for $1055 it’s not a bad deal, wouldn’t pay more, guess I’m also leaning because of the dealer warranty, I’ve never had a lifted truck and the issues that can arise from it. My truck is new just hit 2k miles.
