Absolutely loving it thus far. Helped me achieve a long term goal of having a fun, Baja-esque looking tacoma.

Went with the Cooper Discoverer AT3 4S in 265/70r17 and could not be more pleased with them.

Handling is really enjoyable, as I was somewhat hesitant to lose the Sports factory feel. Not the case at all, it's a great balance.

All in all, really stoked right now.

3" OME lift, SCS Ray 10s, 33" Duratracs, DT Headers. Oh and the g/f has a '22 Taco TRD OR.
My g/f just ordered a 22 TRD OR yesterday at Mountain States in Denver. She tried to get the $1400 "factory" lift package, and was told it's over a year out on that. The dealership had a dealership option at $2400 and I said hell to the no because I've been lifting yota's for over a decade and I knew it's just a basic ass 5100 package. $1400 was even steep but it's her truck and rolling it into a small car payment is more palatable for some (and the whole warranty thing).

So, I'm just wondering if anyone else has heard this when they tried to order the factory lift? I think she's decided on having me do an OME 884/Nitrocharger and AAL 2" lift from Headstrong, and I was a little worried about that whole TSS sensor recalibration thing, but it sounds like that's not really an issue?

Looks great. Mind doing me a favor and measuring from top of tire to fender? Want to see if your read is .5" lower like mine.
I got mine beginning of October. Took one day for them to get it in.

Dang, so sounds like more dealership shenanigans maybe. Thanks for the input!

A few questions, does this kit come with axle shims or do the lift blocks have a built in taper? My new 2022 SR has a slight vibrating decelerating from 30-20 MPH and trying to decide if I want to have it looked at now or if I go for a lift, just wait until then. Possible cause for this vibration could be pinion angle, faulty rear drums, etc. Also, I see if this lift is installed after purchase that it comes with a 12 month warranty. I assume this doesn't modify the OEM 3 year/36k or 5 year/60k powertrain warranty if installed by a dealer right? Also, anyone have any vibrations in the 30-10 MPH after installing this lift?

    No shims
Yes 3yr powertrain is still valid, 1 yr on lift parts
I had slight vibes after install (new so I keep 3 yr on lift parts) at 46-53mph but they went away after truck hit couple hundrend miles.

    A few.
I dont have the trd lift but do have 1 inch rear lift blocks and I had the brake and shake before installing the lift and still do afterward. The trd lift blocks arent tapered either. I have heard changing the shims can eliminate that problem as well but havent done that.

There are 1" blocks sold with a taper. I have them on mine mated with the Bilstein 5160 remote ressy dampeners. No vibration.

I believe it. Most 1" blocks are flat until you get into thicker blocks

Surprising this lift doesn't come with tapered shims or tapered blocks. My stock SR doesn't have shims but not sure if the other stock height trims do. This kit also doesn't come with a carrier bearing drop either right?

Hopefully the images uploaded. The build your vehicle site has the lift kit at $1450, but it also has a code 210. That code states that the kit is parts only and not installed. At this point in time anyhow, the factory, or should I say port, does not install all accessories. Dealers do the install on some, like this, or one can buy the kit and install themselves.

So if you order a new truck with this lift kit as a selected accessory, do they build your truck with the lift installed at the factory so there'd be no extra labor charge or are all trucks built at stock height and then the lift is installed at the dealer and you pay for the labor?

To clarify, I'm not asking about a truck you already bought and then want to take back for the lift.

The kit goes to the dealer you are purchasing your new truck from, I’m assuming shipped separate from the truck, and you pay for the install on top of the $1450 cost. Would be interesting to actually see how it shows on a window sticker, and the verbiage used.

It’s dealer installed. The truck arrives at the dealership then it gets installed there afterwards .

lol... I remember when I first bought my 1992 Toyota Truck. A rear bumper and A/C was a dealer install-able option in Canada.

I’m about to have the kit installed on my new TRD OR, and was originally thinking of maintaining the factory rake by using the bottom setting on the struts to get only a 1” lift all around. But I just had 265/70R17 installed and there’s some slight rubbing on the OEM mud flaps when turning sharply.

Will a 1” lift up front be enough to prevent any rubbing? I’m wondering whether I’ll need to go up to the middle or top setting to get the necessary clearance.

Another option would be to go with the full 2” up front and then replace the rear 1” block with a 2” add-a-leaf to maintain the 1” rake. But I’d like to consider my options with just the TRD lift kit first. I’m also not sure whether the 265/75R17 are enough to fill out 2” in the rear.

Thought pics of the trd lift installed would show some looks.
