Toyota VIN search ...

So I have been given an allotted VIN ("A" in 4th to last character) for a truck being built this week. My question is - once a true VIN is issued, will the site redirect me when I search the "allotted" VIN number? Or, do I have to get the actual VIN from the dealer? I was told only the "A" will be replaced by a number. Is that true also?

I believe the last 6 digits are always Numbers so I would guess that "A" will be replaced.

 

I was in your position a few weeks back. The temporary VIN became invalid when the truck was built. The Toyota site didn’t give me my new VIN. I called my salesperson and she gave me my new one. All information listed between the 2 VINs was identical. My salesperson was able to send me a copy of her site which showed build dates, port dates, anticipated ship and delivery dates.

 

Thanks guys, looks like my allotted VIN is unavailable this morning, so I will contact them for the build VIN. Appreciate the input.
