Toyota Wants to Scan My Frame

It was only a matter of time before this group descended into this ugly place.

 

This post seems like cat-fishing than truth.

 

Dumpster fires are dumpster fires, especially when you get a bunch of us regulars involved.

 

I'd be curious as to why.
But, that aside, I would demand a copy of the digital 3-D model obtained.
Many on TW would love to have the data.

 

I think he got the run around. My father got his inspected first at the closest dealer to where he lived at the time they of course cleared it. When I was able to get home a month later I got underneath saw it and told him to take it to the dealer he purchased it farther away. They took his keys that day and have him a 30 day loaner, 1.5 times blue book and 5k off any new toyota. The good old days.......

 

He had a 96 to 2000, I'll surmise? I say that because my wife had a 96 that got taken in 2008, one of the first in the state.

 

That's what I told him I thought the dealer was taking him for a ride but he didn't want to listen he ended up with a used tundra that ended up needing a fuel tank when the straps broke while driving on highway... he traded that for a used ford super duty. He's just got a 1 track minded thinks he's a millionaire lol

 

Yes.That was his second that rotted, his 1st one was 1990 extra cab the engine blow something up at 240k. Metal shrapnel shot threw the hood on the 1st one when it blew, that truck was a beast I drive that one through everything.

 

I love it. I hate seeing people get ripped off like that too at the dealer good Lord just imagine if that was your wife or daughter.

 

She brought hers in for something, they called her a few hours later to come to the dealer. Sat her down and said "this is a death trap, legally we cannot give you the keys back" and walked her to the truck to get her personal stuff. The letter telling her to bring it in for the frame check arrived a few days later. Like you mentioned they hooked her up bigtime. Cost $4k on top of the buyback check and discount to get a 3 year old Rav4.

My friend had a 98 and as we were leaving the dealer I called her

ME: What are you doing tomorrow?
HER: My day off, why?
ME: You're driving your truck to the dealer tomorrow for a frame check (quick recap of what just happened)

Hers was also bought back and she wound up with a 2006 Sport.

I am ghetto neighborhood away from Van Nuys and had no idea we had an RV park around here. Besides the ones we have under freeways and all. LOL

….but where is this RV park at?
I can go camp there next time I fumigate my house and don’t want to go stay at a hotel or out of town.

 

The Hollywood RV park. I think it was on Balboa. Obnoxiously cute place.

 

Go camp at Castaic lake, upper or lower reservoir.
Can even camp at rowher flats.

 

Bringing this back on track - had my frame scanned this morning - anyone want an update?

Following up. I got my emailed gift card a few days ago. I haven't tried to activate and use it yet.
