Toyota Wants to Scan My Frame

I've really never found it very hard to say "no" any time someone has asked me this question and then move on with my life. I know it's shocking to not treat it like the biggest crime another human could commit but I'm weird like that.

 

Neither have I. Which is why I'll start by saying "no" over the phone. If you can't tell me why, then you're intending to waste my time. No thanks, I don't need to drive in and hand my keys over to verify.

 

I assume OP got enough information over the phone to make their own determination. Given the history on Tacoma frames, it wouldn't take much to convince me to contribute a couple of minutes of my time for something that might benefit others either.

But maybe your time is way more valuable than mine.

 

What exactly is a frame scanner......

 

Sounds fishy. All I can think of is a possible bad batch of frames, welds or one weld in particular that a bot screwed up. Maybe they are calling in some trucks for inspection for a possible recall. I'd take it in myself, but I'd want a good explanation.

 

Only one way to find out… Head first!

 

It takes 4 hours for an oil change

 

I asked and she said they're going to take pictures and it should take no more than 15 mins.

 

Is this like a mri for the frame or are they taking pictures with iPhone 15?

 

It takes 4 hours for a tech to be assigned and switched between jobs, sure.

But OP is talking about rocking up at 4:30. I promise it won’t take four hours.

I must be lucky then. I've always liked this dealership and I'm usually out within an hour for an oil change. They have a decent cafe too!

 

I'd request to have copies of the results,,,which I doubt they will do.

Maybe they want to take pictures of the exhaust reroute that removes the unnecessary low-hanging pipe?
