For sure, I have the service package so I take it in every 5k for oil change and tire rotation, etc. they always try to upsell me on extra services like, injector cleaning, trans flush, diff flush, but ive had those done already.
Enjoy your supercharged taco, I love mine. Everyone on here telling you not to do it, there are 1000s of them on the road from all gens that have survived the test of time, with owners driving them hard. If i wanted a TRX or a raptor i would have bought one, but I wanted a smaller platform with decent power. To each their own, I’ve always wanted a SC taco since my first gen taco I had in high school.
Good luck with your trans problem hopefully they honor the warranty after you get third party inspection.

Mind sharing how much the dealer charged for the install?

EDIT- my bad, it was Toyota Ventura, not Oxnard.
Carlo Mata is the service manager there that oversaw the job

yea I shopped around on the magnuson web site looking for a local installer. Im in Los Angeles so there arent too many, and the ones that can do it usually charge in the $2800-3k region. So when I called the toyota dealer and spoke to Carlo, he put me at ease. They install around 1 every month so its not a biggie for them. took 4 days from when I dropped off the truck to when i picked it up.
The first 1000 miles I took it easy, since then I am back to spirited driving as they say, its so fun

I'd love to see a copy of your unlimited mileage 12 month warranty that you're referring to.

i work at an extended warranty company. having extreme modifications on your vehicle will void your manufacturer. having a supercharger will put more stress in the transmission, these transmission is already finicky and if the vehicle is not tune it would make it stress even more.

Magnuson Supercharger is a different company than Toyota. they don't control Toyota for them to say it should be covered. this would be different if you had a TRD supercharger kit installed in the dealer.

Magnuson Moss only applies on Aftermarket replacement part that comply with the OEM equivalent. and you added force induction.

that is a possibility if you return vehicle to stock and they don't have any documentation ( ie previous visit to the dealer for service that mentions a supercharger) you can commit that "fraud" and get it covered.

Is this the warranty for the supercharger itself, or are you saying that you have a warranty above and beyond that that covers the entire truck?

For the install of the SC and any related issues that would come from it.

Again- if you don't have it in writing... Not calling you a liar. It just doesn't sound like solid without documentation.

Good thing im not bringing it to you for a fix, lol. You have the shops name and number, afraid to waste a few minutes of your time?
Do you have a SC on your truck? Does this all matter?

You're claiming you have a warranty. You won't post up documentation. That's my point.

Edit- I emailed your buddy Carlo Mata. A service advisor, not manager, at Ventura Toyota. We'll see if he gets back to me about the warranty.

if this is a dealer added component the dealer is responsible for the warranty on the whole vehicle. is like buying a level truck with rims with 0 miles because the dealer decided to make a shitting packager they can charge double of what is worth.

Just because a dealer puts something on doesn't mean there's a warranty. Without something in writing you've got nothing to fall back on.

this is such a bummer. I kinda wish id just traded it for a v8 whatever instead of installing a SC... I have a camper to pull. my tranny is functioning perfectly but ive been feeling an intermittent vibe thats new. just changed tranny fluid for the first time. not sure if something like that would be related to dirty ATF, but I feel better about it none the less. OP, I am glad you have a plan of action. please let us know what your tranny guy says..

yeah anything that would modify the vehicle in a way it was not design would void a warranty. in the case of anything visible ( big ass supercharger, under the hood, Aftermarket intake, pedal commander, suspension lift and bigger tires) they would deny right away. as for things they cannot see like the mentioned differential re-gear or a tune, the dealer will probably cover repairs since they wont know you have it unless is documented.

    few things here and there.
    Hmm that makes me curious..

I was researching tunes recently, and worried my powertrain warranty (had I had an issue) would be declined if I were tuned.

So.. to get better shifting, etc, I run the risk of a major problem falling in my lap as a result of a manufacturing issue should one occur (even if unrelated to the tune).

My research was inconclusive. I found reports in which Toyota didn’t care about the tune (when swapping a tranny) and another in which they flat out declined them, like our OP. It’s unclear if they were transparent about having a tune, but I’d imagine they can’t hide it, right?

So where is the line? Does our OP have to remove the SC and demonstrate the behavior continues? Or is it too late now that it’s documented? At least with a tune you can flash back to factory easier than removing a SC I’m sure.

I understand both positions though. It just seems that dealerships are usually unwilling to complete warranty work and look for any reason not to. I certainly hope it does pan out though.

Definitely be careful and stay on top of the fluid being at the right levels. I surely will
