problem with the aftermarket/indy shops is most of them are Pep Boys/Firestone types that are even worse. McDonalds of auto repair. Customer is 100% correct and right no matter what, even if they drive into the shop on their own and hit one or two employees and damage a machine.....the response is supposed to be, it's ok sir, we will take care of you body damage and the employees are covered by our shop insurance and we are going to discount the service for your troubles.

Dealerships at least control this crap better.

It really pains me to agree with some of these posts, I'm extremely lucky at my dealership I work at, we have three master techs that will take on any job and knock it out without issue.

We sent a lube tech to t10 and he can't change a belt without asking for help.

    Your dealer refused. Not Toyota.

Since Toyota doesn’t have their name on it your dealer does not want liability if your motor blows up.

    Could you blame them?

    Find another mechanic.

Most UTI (un-trainable-idiots) kids cant change a spark plug to save their lives. They can tell you how a spark plug works and the theory behind it. Being a mechanic is a lot of hard work and a lot of money to put into this profession. Tools get expensive quick. Especially when it comes to scan tools. 5000 dollar scanner from snap on. Then service writers have the balls to give me a free diagnostic ticket. If they don't want to charge the customer, that's fine but pay me for it. I can't pay my bills with free. When it comes to the world of automotive 98% of the time the customer is wrong. Most people spend 30k on a piece of machinery and have no idea how it works. Like I'm going to take a customers advice on what's wrong with it. As for the supercharger, I can see why they won't do it. I'm sure they had a complaint, " you put a supercharger on my truck now I get this whine when I accelerate" one person ruins it for everybody.

So age brackets, lawyers, and certification types aside. I need to find a good shop in the atlanta area to install this beast. Bobby has been workin hard to make my next vacation myrtle beach. Thank you by the way (I will be calling them next week for a price quote). Ive got my supercharger, 2.85 pulley, and ucon ready to go. Just need a shop that is reasonable for the install

Yup, you need to find a shop that does race engines or a shop with nasty mouthed old mechanic that does this stuff in his sleep.

Was nice when there were local speed shops in nearly every city...

You got called out on what you said and not what you didn’t say.

What in this says only some dealerships or doesn’t imply all dealerships? You made a blanket statement and now try to justify yourself by claiming your abilities. Own up to what you said. It gets real old after a while guys like you shooting their mouth off about stealerships and stuff like they aren’t even capable of oil changes. Any idiot can make slanderous statements but it takes a man to take responsibility for his words and his actions.

Now customers get all butt hurt if a mechanic drops an F Bomb. What else do you say when the cam your trying to turn flips around and throws your wrench directly into your ballsack area?

Honestly you're not that far away from Sparks in Myrtle beach. They ran a Magnuson GB a while back and have installed a number of these including the smaller pulley.

Agreed. Near foolish to take a vehicle somewhere that doesn't want the biz (unless you know them personally). In fact, I'd be appreciative of their honesty and not ram-rodding through the job. Not everyone is devious.

PC is just a verbal form a gentrification. You in to start a magazine or a website to bring the good stuff back? I think it's a million dollar idea.
