    Hey all,

I am approaching 25k miles on my 2020 TRDOR (I drive a lot), and that means the end of my Toyotacare plan. Is it worth it to consider going for the Toyotacare plus which bumps all of the benefits out to 45k miles?

I don't really plan on modifying the engine/performance at all, but might go for a different suspension setup at some point. Any help/opinions are greatly appreciated.

What's the cost to extend it?

I extended the Toyotacare. It worked out fine. I had found the service at my dealer to be pretty good. Very helpful with some warranty issues. I had already decided to continue going to them for service, so extending the Toyotacare wasn't a difficult decision for me.

    What is included?

Just a hunch, probably not worth it.

I like my dealer where I take it for service as well. They shift a lot of tacomas, so the service advisor I have knows his stuff, especially the enthusiast community based information.

Every new Toyota comes with ToyotaCare,1 a maintenance plan that covers normal factory scheduled maintenance with the purchase or lease of every new Toyota for 2 years or 25,000 miles, whichever comes first. 24-hour Roadside Assistance is also included for 2 years and unlimited miles.
    ToyotaCare Includes:

    Engine oil and filter change5
    Rotate tires
    Multi-point inspection
    Inspect and adjust fluid levels
    Toyota Genuine Parts
    Toyota-trained technicians

    24-Hour Roadside Assistance Covers:

    Battery jump-starts
    Lockout protection
    Emergency fuel delivery
    Tire service7
    Towing8
    Winching9

I do all my own maintenance and my insurance (State Farm) has all the roadside assistance in my policy.

I do however have the platinum coverage.

Per the link you get very basic inspection at most intervals, and two oil changes.

So let's out the value of each oil change at $50 (I'm being generous here).

Value of each inspection/tire rotation at $50? Not sure as I have paid someone for this zero times in 20 years on 10 plus vehicles.

Let's call the full price package a $300 value.

What do they charge for it? $900

    "Toyota Trained Technicians" they said.

Hardest of passes if that cost is accurate.

That's before tax also... in California, that becomes absurd for me.

Thanks for talking me off the ledge.

Nearest dealer is 85 miles from me, so I would have to pass on this. Especially for $900.

yeah the lowest person on the totem pole...the kid who just graduated from auto school is the one who will be doing the maintenance on your baby....NO THANKS !!
I was an instructor, briefly, at the local diesel school. 90% of those dimwits couldn't pass the weekly exam when WE GAVE THEM the answers the day before as we would go over the highlights of the week.

Genuine toyota oil filters are $3.50, cabin filter $24, air filter $18. Discount tire will rotate your tires free. You know what oil costs. And you (statistically) will never need the roadside.

Go to the same dealer if you must and pay out of pocket for the same services at the specified intervals and you'll save $600.

I mean most of these plans are for the average buyer who doesn't know jack shit about vehicle maintenance, and they just want to get their car taken care of when the dash light tells them to.
