I researched for months to try to find the best leaf pack for my application. I'm running a ~2 inch lift in the front and I wanted a new leaf pack that would raise my rear end about 2 inches to match my front. I found that an add-a-leaf was the most common way to raise he rear 2 inches, but I didn't want to go that route.

I don't carry much weight in my bed 90% of the time. I wanted something that was comfortable on-road but would do well off-road as well. Most packs I found lifted the truck 3-4 inches. Some could be adjusted by taking out specific leafs, but I wasn't comfortable with that idea. It just doesn't feel right to me to take a leaf out, I felt like the transition from short leafs to the longer leafs would be interrupted. Some didn't have the overload spring, which I thought I would benefit from in instances where I do load up heavy.

After a long time of searching and not coming up with anything, I posted in the midtravel forum. Someone suggested that I look into the new Toytec Boss 2nd gen leaf pack. I went to their website and read about it. It's a 10 leaf pack that gives me 2 inches of lift. The height was perfect for what I wanted. It has plenty of smaller leafs which I thought would prevent it from feeling too stiff. It also has an overload which I thought would help with heavy loads. I went for it.

I've only had them on for a couple days, but so far, I'm extremely pleased with how they drive on-road. They are firm, but not stiff. Truck feels much more planted on the freeway and driving around town. Going over speed bumps, the truck feels comfortable. It used to feel like a semi-harsh crash. The truck feels great hitting large gutters and dips now, which leads me to believe they will probably handle great when I take them off-road. The rear end is now level with my front end. I'm very happy with my purchase and just thought I'd share my experience.

Icon 2.5 inch coilovers with stock length Dirt King upper and lower control arms. I'm lifted only about 2 inches in the front avoid issues with my cv angle.

Does the truck sit level with that set up? Also what size tires are you running?

What convinced you to not go the add-a-leaf route?

I'm running Hanhook Dynapro ATM P265/75/16 tires. Shocks right now are Bilstein 5100's. I didn't want to do an add-a-leaf on my factory 3+1 pack considering it has 70k miles on it, plus it looked a little flat. It felt like a band-aid fix. I also read several posts saying that the high-sprung add-a-leafs can create problems.

The truck sits level to my eyes, maybe a tad bit higher in the back. I was trying to avoid the stink bug look, which I feel I achieved with this setup. I will post pictures later.

I just had the BOSS leaf installed on my '13 access cab on Friday. I'll post a more thorough review after some miles, but so far so good. It's not overly harsh and seems to pair well with the 5100's in back and 5100/eibach's set at 0 up front.

    couple updates:

    1) make sure to retorque your u-bolts few days after initial installation. the bottom 1-2 leafs on my pack turned maybe 5-10 degrees from where they should be. i loosened my ubolts, jacked up the truck, hammered them back into alignment with the rest of the leafs, and retorqued it to ~85-90 ft-lb. they are staying aligned now. i think it's really my doing that the leafs turned like that because i took the truck off road and hammered on the trails really hard.

    2) the driver's side is about 1 inch lower than the passenger side. this measurement was taken before i re-aligned those leafs though and with a completely full tank of gas. i'll have to find a relatively flat spot to re-measure and report back.

these springs ride amazing. my truck used to be a little loose on the freeway going 75-80 mph. now it's completely stable. it handles like a sports cars compared to how it rode before.

off-road, the truck is much firmer in the rear and able to absorb the bumps and dips much better. its not too firm like a F-350 though.

this upgrade is probably in the top 3 upgrades on my truck i have done.

They seem to be holding up just fine for me. I'm running Icon 2.5" shocks with remote reservoir and CDC's on them now. Before that, I had the standard length Bilstein 5100's. The 5100's matched well, but were a little short. They clunked over speed bumps.

Are these springs still working out well for you? Any abnormal squeaks? I'm looking into these now, my stock leafs with add a leaf squeaks like hell and is driving me nuts and so embarrassing. Did they come with eye bushings or did you have to get those separate? If separate what did you go with? Did you replace the shackle to frame bushing as well?

I have the same leaf packs on my truck for the last year. they are great when the truck is not loaded. Everything stated above i agree with. Ride quality is awesome on and off road. Only issue i have is that when i load the truck to go camping they don't carry the weight very well. The truck sits level when unloaded (i have a shell) but when i put stuff in the back it sags quiet a bit. I don't hit my bump stops unless i am really off roading when i am loaded down but still sag to much for my liking. Hope this helps guys and makes sense.
