Hey, so I'm adding an icon stage 5 suspension kit to my 2016 tacoma TRD off road double cab short bed.

It adds a 2.75 inch lift. Will I need a front differential kit from toytec? Most people are telling me yes, while some say no.

    What do you think? Thanks

Toytec told me not needed, but recommended with their Boss kit, so I got it.

It is not required, but an extra you can install that may help with the longevity of the CV Boots.

I see, thanks. Will I not be able to install a 3rd party skid plate in the future? A pelfreybilt for example?

Don't know about pelfreybilt dimensions, but I run an RCI steel plate.

Differential drop kits are pointless, just keep an eye on your boots.

I'd say anything under 3" should be fine, besides lowering other parts of the truck just to raise it for bigger tires is kinda counterintuitive.

It appears you'll be doing some offloading, keep CoG low and tires tucked!

Yes you can install aftermarket skid plates, our diff drop does come with skid plate spacers if needed.
