3" Toy-Tec lift, Bilstein 5100 shocks, Banks Monster Exhauat, K&N Cold Air Intake, AFE Throttle Body Spacer, Tinted windows, Black Billet Grille, Black Headlights, 8000K HID Head/Fog Lights, Black Tail Lights, Black LED Third Brake Light, LED license plate lights, LED reverse lights, LED parking lights, LED interior lights, Toyota Bed Mat, 3" Oval Nerf Bars
I originally had my 3" ToyTec spacer lift installed at my local Toyota dealership. Later on I added Bilstein 5100's all round, had those installed through a shop closer by in town, noticed after shocks were installed the spacer on passenger side no longer fully displays the ToyTec logo. I understand this has no effect on performance, ride, lift height, etc. but just from a looks perspective I would like it to once again fully show the logo on the spacer. When I asked Toyota about it (keep in mind they installed the actual spacer lift) they said it is "impossible" to show the full length logo on either side.....which is definately not true because it is fine on drivers side. They then said well on passenger side its different, would it not be the exact same parts just on opposite sides. They said depending on which groove the spacer was set to will only show partial logo so either just "toy" or "tec" but not ToyTec in full. Are they bs'ing me , any opinions or ideas on what to do?

    Are you OCD?

I have a Toytec spacer lift, and I've never, ever even given it second thought. I don't notice it's even on the truck, let alone if the logo is perfectly centered. I think you're putting wayyyyyyyy too much thought into this.

If they were previously able to be orientated outward then yes he's BSin you. It would just take some time playing with both Spacers to get the orientation correct.... no shops going to flip the bill just so the logo is correctly positioned. Are you sure you wanna pay install again just for a first world problem like that?

The spacer can sit in one of three locations. Since you didn't post pics it's hard to say whether they are bs'ing you or not.
Personally I would hide the logo :crapstorm:

Besides...why the hell would you use reinstall spacers if you have Bilsteins?

The spacers have recesses for the bolts that go through the coil bucket. Meaning they can only be clocked in 60 degree increments. The logo will either show...or be way off

    That ^^^^^^

It all depends on where they engraved the logo, but i would assume they would do so to fully display their name for marketing reasons. I bet the tech is just feeding you a line of shit.

Easy fix though. Drop assembly, rotate spacer to display the name and bolt back up. DONE!

    Thanks Mr. Salty and JBerry813.

AgentSmith.....No I am not OCD, I take pride in my truck as do you I am sure, as does everyone else that visits these forums. Forgive me for asking a question, you know if you think I'm stupid for asking or wanting to know that's your opinion which I am entitled to. If you don't have anything helpful to say then why bother saying it. Like I said, I'm just a fellow Tacoma owner asking for advice. You do not have to personally bash any question, myself or anyone asks. I simply was asking if this was correct and what some opinions on the matter were, I spent a good bit of time and money investing in building my truck, and I would like all the parts to appear that they are installed properly. So , I don't need you sly little comments thinking youre TOO funny asking me if I am OCD or if my Bilstein logos are perfectly centered? OK??

Attitudes and snide comments aside...why did you even reinstall the spacers if you've got Bilsteins? They are height adjustable to 2.5" of lift.

In order to run the tire size I have I need the full 3 inch lift, I got the upgraded shocks just as an upgrade to the oe shocks. Even if tires were not a factor, going 2.5 up front wouldve left my rear end sitting higher, and I wanted a level stance....or is that aginst the rules as well .....am I considered OCD because I would like my truck to sit level. I went with the 5100's to be a more heavy duty performance shock, not to use them for the lifting purposes, which are optional, obviously you can run these shocks at normal position, forgive me. I did'nt make this post to have people questioning other aspects of my truck I simply wanted an answer to the questions I posted.

just so you know, spacers blocks are not considered the best way to lift your front end, most here that do 2.5 to 3 inch lift do the 5100's set at the highest setting...I am not running a lift, but since I hang out here a lot, I am just passing the information along...

you can spin the spacers yourself to get the way you want it, doubtful the people who did it will do it again 'gratis', unless you specifically requested them to be the way you wanted them...

Whoa man. Calm down. It's the internet. People from all over the world are on here. That's what makes this community diverse. If you expect clouds and rainbows on your posts log off now. People are gonna ask questions and give you crap no matter what. Especially running a spacer lift. Best thing to do is calm down and enjoy the ride. Hell I get called mall crawler and I just laugh. Don't let little things get to you.

I don't have a problem, I'm simply saying you could have just said if it bothers you yes it can be fixed, personally I wouldn't waste my time but to each their own. Instead of throwing out the OCD crap, all I'm saying. My bad.

Kid, you specifically asked for opinions or ideas on what to do in your original post. I gave you my opinion. If you think I'm bashing you by asking if you are OCD, because to be honest, the logo showing has NO effect on the mechanics of the lift, then I'm sorry you took it that way. That's the only thing I can think of that would make someone even ask about a logo showing up correctly.

If you are getting this bunged up about the logo being off center and taking some light ribbing, you are going to have a heart attack by being so uptight. You should ask your question over at pirate4x4.com. You'll really appreciate their honesty over there.

    enough to go over stuff
I understand why you are upset about the logo. If it was important to you, you probably should have let the installer know how you wanted it. 99.99% of people wont care which way the logo faces on a spacer lift. My advise to you is save up for a real lift and ditch the spacers. I dont think any shop would pay to have them re-installed to show the logo and if it really is important to you you should pay to have it done. Goodluck with your build.
