anti lock brake disable mod, fogtime anytime mod, Leer Topper, all pro plate bumper, toytec 3 inch lift, bfg AT, rims, piaa 5100's, some double din head unit (cant remember), warn 8000 winch, DO sliders, hacked frame to fit full size spare, thule and yakima roof racks
So my lift is finally going out. I have the ultimate lift kit from toytec. Does anyone know if the coilovers can be rebuilt and if I can just buy and stick new blisteens in them. If not what is the easiset/cheapest way to go about replacing all 4 corners and maintain my lift.

Bilsteins have a lifetime warranty so you should contact toytec to have them replaced if they are leaking.

I got the boss setup and love it because shocks are rebuildable. I see no reason why you can't rebuild your coils with new shocks. How long have you had your setup?

I'd say new shocks all the way around as long as the leafs are good and front springs too.

I have had it for about 60K miles. leafs and front springs seem to be good. I am just not sure how to take the Shock out of toytecs coilover

I wonder if the Bilstien warranty will still hold up as the shocks are modified to be used with the Toytec shock collars. As I see it Toytec would have to own this and not Bilstien.

I didn't think the Boss shocks could be rebuilt
Does TT sell a rebuild kit or the internal components to valve them based on ones needs?

I thought these were similar to the Bilstiens which are sealed and life, you don't rebuild but replace.

You don't rebuild coils, spring seats and adjusting collars, these are just external components used to make the non rebuildable shock into an adjustable coilover.

I thought he was talking about the shock itself which from my understanding is not rebuildable.

I swear I remember seeing that the shocks were able to be rebuilt before I purchased them. That was one of the reasons I got them. Now I see no reference to that anymore on their site. Interesting... Could be that I was looking at so many kits I misread. If someone knows for sure that would be great. I remember thinking what a pain it would be to have the truck apart waiting for them to rebuild. Strange.

Theres a pretty noticeable difference between a rebuildable shock and a non rebuildable shock. A rebuildable shock will have a cap at the bottom or the top of the shock which can be screwed off in order access all the internal parts. Shocks like Bilstiens have no such thing and cannot be taken apart.

Compress spring, remove top shock nut, slide shock out, replace with new.

Just because the shocks in the Toytec coil overs can't be rebuilt, that doesn't mean the whole coil over is done. A new pair of 5100's is likely cheaper than most shock rebuilds

Also, the 5100's do have a lifetime warranty against defects. Wear after 60k miles is not a defect.
