I just sold my 07 TRD sport DC 4x4 and bought a new 09 model. I was originally going to go with a 6 inch kit and 35s but after realizing if I go 6 inches that there is no returning to a lesser kit, I have decided to look at a 3 inch kit. I have heard a few people say "stay away from coil overs, they ruin your ride." Then I have heard others say they cant tell a difference. Is any of this true??? I am looking at Toytec's Ultimate lift kit. They said it should clear 33s. What do you guys think? Will it still maintain a close to factory ride? I need some input from the gurus on this one. Also Fabtech told me they have a 6 inch kit for the new 09 in the works, but currently their systems dont fit the new 09 because of the VRSC or something like that.

    It's the wife's T4R so it's stock
Whoever is saying that coilovers ruin your ride must be smoking crack...

My coilovers (camburgs) ride amazing... I can't compare it to factory because that was a long time ago and can't remember what the stock ride was like...

The ultimate kit will clear 285s (basically 33s). Whenever you do anything to the suspension, it will change the ride characteristics... put load E tires on and it will definitely ride differently... too many factors that can change the ride...

    VSC gets fukt apparently...

So is Toytecs Ultimate lift kit seem like a good way to go? I figure if I still want more lift I can still go to a 6 inch system and sell the toytec.

thought I read something about it over at TN...

Probably has to do with bigger tires... but I'm not too sure... no VSC on my 06

That is definately something to consider. Has anybody used toytecs ultimate kit though, and what size tires are you running?

Got the rear lifted in 3 hrs by myself. I wish the kit contained spring pack bolts about 1/4" longeron the heads. The 3 degree spacer takes up all the stud length and It leaves a question as to contact with the hole in the spring perch on the axle. Wasted 45 minutes having to cut the U bolts to the right length. If you dont cut then you will be leaving some bad hang points. Gonna have to fab bracket for brake line Tee on axle to allow for travel down at lowest extended position. All in all went as advertised looks sick. 3 hrs,3 beers.lol Front tomorrow. uca's and coil overs..Will post when completed will include pics of mods.
