Toytec vs Wheeler AAL

    Recently added 5100's up front on my 09 dbl cab, set on 1.75". Since that raised the front a little much, I got some toytec AAL's. Those raised the rear too much now. Also got the driveline vibration at take off, just under 60,etc. I messed with the carrier bearing and got it set the best I could, got some shims on the way.

    Are the Wheeler 1.5" AAL's a different leaf than the Toytec AAL's? Toytec claimed around 1.5-2" lift, they raised mine over 2". Been a few weeks now, no settling, have hauled the horse trailer a few times and left it hooked up for several nights in hopes to settle the springs a little.

    I am thinking about ordering the Wheeler 1.5" AAL's, but would hate to find out they are the same springs or something like that....

    Any help/insight would be appreciated.

    Don't know about different leafs from the Toyotec, but I can saythat the Wheeler's 2 inch aal I put on hasn't settled more than the day it went on, and I loaded it a few times with rock

    Went ahead and ordered the 1.5" wheeler aal 's. Will post before and after pics, with measurements for future reference.

    Don't think its made for weight, more for flex! It handles moderate loads pretty good though!

    My Wheelers 3 leaf progressives have seem to go flat. I have wheeled hard (flexed) out a bunch, but now I'm thinking of going with the Alcan or Deavers.

    Stock springs, non tsb, opted to go without the bottom overload spring. Yes, I dont know how/why but mine are much flatter than the pack in your pic. :(
    Like you said, I'm very happy with the ride and they wheel great.

    So far they've held up great! I'm in the middle of a home renovation and have been towing a lot and hauling pretty heavily. The 3-leaf AAL has done a great job so far. I kept the overload in though so they'll only squat but so far. With a moderate load, I'm up off the overload, when loaded heavy, I barely kiss the overload. Hopefully they last a while!

    Got the "2 inch" toytec aal's swapped out with the "1.5 inch" wheeler aal's. Also added the toytec 3 degree wedges.

    The wheeler aal's were at least a few inches longer over all. Now the truck sits an inch lower in the rear, as I had hoped. It also feels suprisingly different when driving the same roads/bumps, a little less harsh or more cushy in the rear.

    The wedges helped a little with the driveline vibration on take off. Had to tinker a bit with the drive shafts and carrier bearing alignment to dial it in. Added 3/16" shims to the carrier bearing to help line things up, used an angle-meter app on the iphone to check driveline angles. Still messing with eliminating vibration.

    *update, didn't know the two front coil springs where different, til reading about it yesterday. Kinda wondered why the color codes were different when I took them to get compressed for the 5100's, didn't think much of it at the time. Swapped them out this morning, cuz of course, my 50/50 odds of getting them right by chance didn't work out.
    The passenger side front wheelwell "clearance" was around 7 inches, while the drivers side was about 6. After the spring swap, and driving around the yard to let them settle, both sides are like 6 3/4" now. Color code spring white pink is on the drivers side now. White orange on the passenger side. Both springs were exactly the same length measured, but when they were the other way, the drivers side sagged just over a half inch!
