May be a dumb question but how do you turn the oznium LEDs on/off? Thinking about adding them to my grill when it’s time for production. Any wiring involved on my end when it gets here if I go that route?

 

There are plenty of different options to wire lights on the truck. I believe the easiest way would be to simply tap them into the driving lights on the headlights - that way they would simply come on with them And you would not have to run a separate power line or switch into the cab.
I may just throw a few on mine for the heck of it.

I had LED lights added to my grille when Craig was putting it together. I installed the grille yesterday, will post pictures when I can. The lights I wired to the parking lights. Used a T-tap to the green wire. Pretty simple.

 

Don't like t taps. They promote corrosion. Salty winters.

 

They have worked good for me. I also like I can disconnect at the tap if I ever need to remove the grille. Otherwise I would install quick disconnect.

Today marks the 7 year anniversary for this thread.

I made my first satoshi grill for myself a couple months after I first bought my truck in the spring of 2010.



In doing so, and quite by accident, I found a few local material sources and began to provide pre-cut mesh kits for other members here on the forum. After experimenting on my own with a few different fabrication processes I found that plastic welding was a proficient way to create the satoshi "look" without having to wait for epoxy or fiberglass resins to cure. I made a few more grills for interested members using my own truck as a beta-test vehicle for the products. Eventually after increasing interest I decided to start this thread as a service to the TW community and a way to properly manage the interest in my creations in a fair & equal format.
In my observations as an active TW member I had seen a few folks get in over their heads offering a product on the forum and then not be able to deliver on time or with quality. I felt it best to only take on the work I could personally commit to and created the OP list on this thread as a way to manage the work.
The grill work has always been a part-time endeavor for me as I'm a full time employee of HD.

So here I am: 7 years later and hundreds of custom grills on the road, domestic and internationally.

I continue to be surprised and grateful for the interest in my work.

Cant wait for my grill! Wanted one ever since I bought my truck and joined the forum in 2011. Met Craig in Moab soon after and saw the rig in person... some amazing work this man does.
