A month ago I got new tires from a trusted shop. Yesterday morning on one of our coldest mornings so far I got into my truck and had a low tire warning. I checked all my tires and they were fine. In the afternoon I tried to reset it only to find that it won't go out.

Does the spare have a sensor? What are the chances of a bad sensor?

I've read the spare tire does have a sensor. My truck doesn't have that option.

If your sensors haven't been changed since new, the chances are at least one is faulty. Mine went out at about 6 or 7 years.

Or do like a lot of us and live with the light. Just check your tire pressures periodically.

I decided to add an aftermarket TPMS to the truck--cheaper than new sensors.

Yes, you’re 2006 has sensor. They stopped putting a sensor in the spare sometime around 2010. I’m betting that you just need to add air to the spare. Hopefully someone has put it in the truck valve stem side down.
