tpms broken

    i got tires put on yester day and the tpms blinks for like a minute then goes solid i am almost sure that one of my tpms sensors got broken in the process is it ok to take the light bulb outa the dash? or what is the best way to get rid of this nanny system?

    If it is solid, then you have a tire that is low. Recheck your pressures (including the spare).

    To add, the light is an LED and would need un-soldered from the gauge cluster. It would be easier to just unplug the the TPMS ECU. It is behind your AC control panel IIRC.

    that was the first thing i did all are set to 34 psi inc the spare its not the normal low tire blink it blinks for a really long time then goes solid the low tire alert doesnt blink that much then goes solid

    If they (or one of them) is damaged, then whoever changed your tires is liable to replace the damaged one(s).

    It depends. The dealer will be the most costly (of course). Regardless, you will have to go there to get the system trouble shot to find which one is bad and have the new one reprogrammed into the ecu. Each sensor has it's own serial number that needs programmed into the ECU.

    Would this make the light go away? Mine is on all the time because the previous owner of my truck didn't swap the TPMS over when he changed wheels. It would be nice if I could get it to turn off.

    I believe so. There is one wire from the TPMS ECU that goes to the gauge cluster for the illumination of the TPMS warning light.

    On page 45, you will see T14. That is the TPMS ECU.

    On a 05-06 the wire is a light blue color. I don't know what color it will be on an 07 or 08. All you have to do is unplug the TPMS ECU though.

    I broke one of my sensors while swapping out tires. I still havent replaced it tho. Ntwonline.con has our sensors for $50/each. If i dont unpluf the wires i might order one
