Sorry this isn't an answer; more of an observation.

It's possible, at least on my Canadian TRD Sport. I purchased winter tires on steelies with the truck (no TPMS sensors) and had the dealer mount them. Presumably they disabled TPMS because I have no tire pressure screen on my 4" display. There's actually a blank page there where I think it's supposed to be.

Long story short, haven't found out how to do it yet but I'm gonna need to re-enable it when the summer wheels go on. :)

To the OP, I am sure you could run a tpms pipe bomb
    @no1mr
I have run two sets of wheels and tires on 2 tacomas & tundra with tpms.
Only one set had the sensors.
After storing the set with sensors in my garage, I never trigger a light unless I drive for an extended period of time out of range.
This has been true for many, many rotational seasons with a 2x 2006, 2011, and 2013.
When the light does trigger, it resets itself after being parked in my driveway.
Honestly, I never had to do anything when swapping out the sets.
One year, it did tell me the one of the tires in storage was low though.
    That was pretty cool.
Congrats on getting your tires without sensors mounted at the dealer, in my state they won't do it because its part of our State Inspection.
Only mom & pop shops or your own jack can swap out your darn tires without these sensors!

Just don't reinstall them when you change wheels. My light hasn't come on since and the sensors are in a warehouse in boxes still on the old fugly wheels.

When I removed my OEM wheels and put on snow tires, I was surprised that the TPMS light did not come on... Drove a lot of short runs till I saw it come on.. Turns out .... in the manual, if you drive for 20 minutes without a signal from the sensors (they are in the garage at home)... the light then comes on.

I fixed that with a 5/8" round piece of black electrical tape....

How do you guys have it NOT come on...?? Did you do a re-set of the TPMS system when out of range of the sensors or something...??

    I'd love to know.

Cut a piece of black electrical tape and place over the TPMS warning light on your instrument panel.

Honestly I did nothing but store my stock alloys with programmed sensors & summer tires in garage. Light stays off as long as I stay within range/time whatever it is. If I don't- say I'm going to Canada, the light triggers & stays on. Come home from Canada, park in driveway overnight, wake up & go to work, start truck no light. It resets on it own. I don't use tape because I know eventually it will go out once the mother ship is close to its sensors.
