I recently picked up a set of take off OR wheels & tires that included the tpms. Is there a DIY way to get the truck to recognize the different sensors? I've tried the reset procedure, but it's not working. The manual says new/different sensors require a dealer visit. I would like to work around that if I can. Anyone done this?

You would need have the tool to pair the new sensors to the car. Otherwise you are going to visit the deals. Correct me if I’m wrong.

The ID numbers of the new sensors need to be programmed into the truck's computer using a tool that connects to the OBDII port under the dash. You also need to know the new ID numbers which can be read with a trigger tool that you point at the valve stem.

Dealer is not your only option for this. A good tire shop should be able to do it or you can buy a tool and do it yourself. I do it myself twice a year when I switch between summer and winter wheels.
