I recently switched car insurance and the price included a discount for using one of those OBDII things you plug in and it tracks your driving habits.

Of course they never told me this, so they kept calling trying to get me to enroll and I said fuck that noise. I'll pay the extra 5 bucks a month I don't want that nonsense in my truck.

    Manual:
Your Toyota is equipped with several sophisticated computers that will record certain data, such as: • Engine speed • Accelerator status • Brake status • Vehicle speed • Shift position The recorded data varies according to the vehicle grade level and options with which it is equipped. These computers do not record conversations or sounds, and only record images outside of the vehicle in certain situations. ● Data Transmission Your vehicle may transmit the data recorded in these computers to Toyota without notification to you. ● Data usage Toyota may use the data recorded in these computers to diagnose malfunctions, conduct research and development, and improve quality. Toyota will not disclose the recorded data to a third party except: • With the consent of the vehicle owner or with the consent of the lessee if the vehicle is leased • In response to an official request by the police, a court of law or a government agency • For use by Toyota in a lawsuit • For research purposes where the data is not tied to a specific vehicle or vehicle owner

The service departments seem to have a bad habit of over inflating tires.

My TPMS lights did the same 2 days this past weekend......after driving 10 minutes or so, pressures increased and lights went out. Was colder than usual those days, so that likely was the issue. Going to have to add some air to each tire now that the weather is changing.

Also, even though each reading showed the same PSI, doubtful they are exactly the same in reality. I have a digital gauge on my inflator and can go to the tenth of a pound on each tire - example 34.2 lbs on each - and they still won't be exactly the same.

I fill mine up one psi over what I'll end up with, then over a few days I barely let air out so all 4 read the exact same on the dash.

I know I have a problem and I'm working on it, lol.
