what google smart andriod app will pair with a 2012 TACO tiree sensor.
The Shenzhen Elink Things app will not auto pair with the sensor.

After buying my 2019 Tacoma SR and driving it home for a four hour drive, the TPMS light came on the dash. It blinked for 10-15 times then steady.

In my case, after taking the truck to my local Toyota dealership, they determined that the dealer (Mercedes Benz) that I bought my Tacoma from didn't have access to Toyota software to recalibrate TPMS sensors after the seller installed a new set of wheels and tires.

It cost me $185 for Toyota dealership to reset/recalibrate all TPMS sensors. It was worth it to not have to look at that flashing dashboard warning light.

    Good luck!

My truck did this when a tire picked up a nail, as it's supposed to. Repaired the the leak, re-set/re-calibrated the system via the process outlined in the owner's manual. Warning light out.

Mine were doing the same thing. A buddy told me these things go kaput after a few years. I just had them replaced today when I got new tires and now it’s no longer doing it.

And I don't believe that light is a state inspection fail, so you really don't have to address it until you get new tires.

All it takes is for any one battery (or all 4) in the TPMS transmitter in a tire go dead for that light to come on.

That’s high here. I paid $75 for dealer to do all mine.

I got used to that light. Does not bother me in the least. I might have the bad sensor replaced next time I get new tires. I went most of my life without TPMS. I got by just fine :)

This, or the spare if applicable (I forget on your year). I just used the local Town Fair Tire when my sensors needed replacing, was about $70 for two

Buy new sensors from Amazon. Price is $40-$60 for a set of 4. Any decent tire shop will install and program them for $10-$15 each. If you're buying new tires there is no additional charge to install them. I've done this on multiple vehicles and never had an issue.

Typical sensor life is 7-10 years but I've seen some go as long as 14. Anymore I just buy new sensors and take them to the tire store and have them installed with every other set of tires. That's new sensors about every 7 years. About the cost of a tank of gas. The old ones are still working but there is a good chance they won't out last a 3rd set of tires and it the cost is about 1/2 to just do it when buying tires.

Makes sense. Right now I have 2 on my truck that are original, 15 years. Top of the skull I think one went at 11 years, I could be wrong about the 4th one being original.

If one sensor goes bad, will the gauge read null for all 4 tires on the dash? Mine is approaching 9 years old. Never had any issues, and then 1 day the dash light started flashing and went steady, I've got no reading for all 4 tires now.

Tell em it has to get billed through Holman fleet management. Sometimes they’ll just throw their hands in the air and do it for free just so they won’t have to deal with them.

This. Same here after a -5F week. 17 year old TPMS. New wheels and new TPMS all four and that's it. Spare too.
