TPMS Light on after lift - Spare Tire? Reprogram?

After I received my truck back from the shop (3" Lift, UCA's, Tires) the tire pressure monitoring system light has been on (yes I tried to reset per the manual). My buddy did the work and is confident he didn't wack anything, so I'm trying to narrow down what could be going on.

    2009 TRD Offroad:
Pre-lift the tire pressure was 32psi on 265/70R16
Post-lift the tire pressure is 45psi on 285/75R16

Could it be the spare tire throwing off the system reading because it's set at 29psi? If this is the case, would removing the spare solve the problem (can't use it with 33's anyway)?

Or does anyone know if I need to have the system reprogrammed to account for the higher pressure in the new tires? If so, how do I reprogram it - dealer?

Kind of hoping the system has the ability to 'learn' and that by removing the spare and resetting the system the light will turn off but insight would be helpful before going down this road.

    Thank you...

There's a set button under the steering column. Press and hold it for 10 seconds. They stopped putting TPMS sensors in the spare after a certain year (can't remember which year off hand). If yours does have one in the spare, it would throw the light because that sensor would be reading so much lower than the others. If there is no sensor in the spare, just resetting will solve the problem. If there is, you'll have to talk to your dealer about disabling the spare sensor. I'm not sure they would because it's essentially disabling a 'safety feature' even though they stopped using them at a certain point anyways...

^^^ Pretty much what he said. The system doesn't learn anything on its own. It's all program. If the spare has a tpms and you remove the tire, it will read that as a trouble or error. The light will blink for about 30 seconds then stay on every time you start the truck until the problem is resolved.

I did try the RTFM (read the f*****g manual) method of resetting the system but the light is still on. I read the sticky on here and if whomever said it was right, my 2009 does not have a spare tire sensor...so I might be able to eliminate that thought.

Well crap, if it's a non-learning system then it's looking like I have to have my ECU reprogrammed by a dealer, hack it, or buy new sensors.
