TPMS light won't reset - checked all pressures inc spare

When I start the engine, the TPMS light blinks for a while (30 seconds or so) then stays on solid.

    Here's what I've tried:
    1. Checked all pressures including spare - all set to numbers on door sticker
    2. Pressed reset button until the light blinked 3 times. When I do this the same thing happens, it blinks for a while (30 seconds or so) then stays on solid.
    3. Took it to Disco Tire, they used their scan tool to check all sensors, all were good.
    4. Disconnected the battery, waited a minute and reconnected.
    Any other ideas?

    Hey,
Normally that means a battery is dead on the TPMS sensor itself which makes me wonder why #3 in your list came out all good.

There's only about an 8 year life on the TPMS sensor battery itself. I've got at least one out now and can't justify the cost to replace them (Toyota wants $200 +, and I don't want to go to Discount just to have them unmount / change sensor / remount a perfectly good set of tires).

    Hope that helps.

I had the same thing on my Tacoma happen recently. I had it checked out and the sensors had power, but the right rear was reading 78 psi when only 32 psi was in the tire. There was no visible damage to the sensor, don't know what went wrong...

I went through this last year, sensor batteries lasted 12 years which is a good run. In a 2007 model I also would suspect the sensors have gone bad in some way. When Disco Tire said the sensors are good, did they say anything specific? Such as, the sensors are sending a signal but that's all the tire shop could read? The sensors may be sending bad information as ownit says above. Also the sensors have to be matched to the truck's receiver or it won't recognize the signal, so maybe one or more sensors are no longer matched...? I got new sensors for $32 apiece from Rock Auto. The spare wheel may be full size but mine has a different internal contour than the 4 main wheels and requires a different sensor.
    Good luck.
