    Hi Guys,
I had new tires put on my 2016 Tacoma on Friday. On Saturday I checked the tire pressure readings on the dash and they were way high, some as high as 44lbs. The shop is reputable so I figured they wouldn't have filled them that much. I checked them with my gauge and they were 32 lbs all around. I found threads where the TPMS weren't sending readings but didn't find any for them reading high. I tried resetting them but no luck. I called the shop and they said they haven't seen the sensors read high like that before and said they put the sensors back in the same wheels they came from. They offered to reprogram them for me next week to see if that fixes the problem.
Has anyone else had a problem with the sensors reading high?

    Thanks!
    Shawn

I hadn’t heard of that. I know there are different sensors for alloy and steel wheels.
Why did they remove the sensors and put them back on?

Yes, I have had the TPMS read high after tire replacement.

I immediately tried to get a pressure reading with my gauge but water shot out of the valve stem into my tire gauge rendering it useless for the rest of the day til it dried out.

I then purged all the valve stems a little to blow the water out and then waited until the next morning to set the cold pressure on the new tires.

Luckily, that went fine. My primary and secondary tire pressure gauges and the vehicle TPMS all read the same pressure. I did a TPMS reset and it's been fine since.

Thanks for the replies. I did check the pressures and no water came out of the stem. That's nuts!
