Just ordered new wheels and tires, and I'm curious if there is anything that I need to do once the new tires/wheels are installed to get the TPMS functional. The new tires are LT rated and come with the new sensors installed. I believe that they require a higher pressure than the previous tires. Is there anything that I need to do to get the sensors to "link" up to my truck, and how do I reset the TPMS for the higher pressure range?

You'll have to have the dealership or tire installer match the new sensors to the truck. (It takes a special tool.) It's not cheap, sadly, and people usually report a $100-$200 fee from the dealership. But tire installation places may have the gadgets needed to remap the TPMS, so if you're having the tires installed ask. (And then ask again—when I had my MTs put on, they said they would map the TPMS, then...didn't.)

As for the pressure, there should be a button under your steering column with the TPMS icon on it.

Plenty of other information about this in the forums.

After a little more research, I found exactly what you had mentioned. Thanks for the info!

I just had new Coopers installed on my 07. The tire install place replaced one of my TPMS because they said the existing one was corroded. The TPMS light is now on. It was working correctly before the swap. The tire place said it was an OEM autosensing device and the light would go out. I only have about 20 miles on it since the TPMS replacement/new tire install. Is this going to correct itself or is there something else I need to do?
