Got a set of RR6-H wheels today, went to Mr. Tire to get them mounted and they said the stock TPMS sensors from my 2021 TRD Sport wouldn't fit properly in the RR6-H wheels I have, and that air would leak if I wanted to add the sensors to the new wheels. They mounted the tires to the wheels without the sensor.

Anyone else have a similar experience? Is there certain way to add the sensor to the new wheels?

Lots of rims come with a separate hole just for the TPMS sensor, usually on the inside of the barrel.

It's not that common anymore, but it does happen.

Aftermarket sensors can fit, you'd have to go to a knowledgeable tire shop for that though.

I've installed them backwards to get them to fit, but they break if the next tire tech doesnt unbolt them first.

You can get aftermarket ones that will fit. The oem ones are chunky

I can't speak for 3rd gen, but I installed autel sensors in my 2nd gen and the valve stem is separate from the sensor, while they came with metal valve stems that look like the Toyota ones I could have used Ford rubber valve stems since the sensor attaches in the same way, I think GM and Jeep uses the same valve stem as well.
I realize this doesn't help with using the factory sensors though.

I had a shop move my stock TRD Off Road TPMS sensors over to my RR6-H’s without a problem.

Thats odd. I have RR5-S wheels and my stock tpms sensors were a direct fit. I think all RRW wheels support the stock TPMS sensors if I'm not wrong.

Anyone have recommendations for aftermarket tpms sensors that will fit my RR6-H wheels? Maybe something reliable but more affordable, since I gotta pay to get them installed again

Have a 2021 Sport, "Mr. Tire" said the stock ones wouldn't fit. Have the new wheels on now without the sensors and already getting annoyed of seeing the sensor alert lol
