I just got a set of TRD Pro rims for my 2023 TRD OR and need to purchase TPMS sensors. After doing some research I’m finding two different part numbers for the sensors, 42607-04020, and 42607-02050. Can someone please tell me the correct part number for TRD Pro rims?

Why not swap them over from the OR wheels?

Confirm with your local dealer but I think this is correct part no. 42607-04020.

I’ve read though that 42607-04020 are for steel rims with a 20 degree angle. The 42607-02050 are for aluminum alloy rims.

When I switched wheels, I had my local tire shop install and sync some sensors, and so far, so good. I'm sure they're some sort of third-party option, but they seem to be working just fine.

Why would you wish to use Toyota sensors? When you go to put on that spare set of rims/tires you will have to go through the setup of the ECU again via the DLC3.

How about a cloned set from eBay or the Autel or similar products?

I have two sets of rims with Autel sensors with them cloned to the original sensors. Easy bolt on tires with no programming.

Is clones an easy set up? I am still learning

Took about 10 minutes to program (cloned) and still on truck .You can use whatever you like.

2 different parts. T6 and T17. 42607-04020 is the T6 and the correct protocol.

I have had great luck here. OE German made. Used in most European cars so they are not cheap Chinese ebay/Amazon sensors.

Regardless of Toyota or aftermarket- the truck computer stores only 4 sensor IDs. its the same effort of 're-programming' every time you rotate tires or swap sets. The computer will have to be re-taught the new position or new IDs.

Autel sensors are about $100 for a set of 4 on Amazon and work just fine. There isn't any benefit to using OEM Toyota parts for 3x the cost.

You're right about swapping sets but I think you're mistaken about rotations. I have always done my own rotations and the truck recognizes the new positions of each wheel after a few minutes of driving. It's an easy check because I run slightly different pressure front and rear.

Interesting- I wonder how the computer figures location since the receiver is in the center of the truck (right around the 3rd brake light apparently)?

I have no idea haha. Maybe someone smarter than me can chime and explain why one of us is right. My experience is obviously anecdotal so maybe I've got it wrong and don't know.

IIRC, the difference in rotations and the steering angle sensor in the clock spring are all calculated out by the ECU. I do nothing at all at rotation time and the sensors are correct in a short while. Lots of curvey roads here. Never use the button by my left shin.
