Hi everyone. My father just bought a 2022 Tacoma SR with the steelie type rims and a buddy of mine has a 2022 SR5 with Black rims. He is getting ready to sell me those rims and tires to put on my father's Tacoma.

From what I have read on this forum the TPMS from his truck should work fine on my father's, my question is will they need reprogrammed? Or will they automatically work just swapped? And besides a dealership is there anywhere else to reprogram them if they need that?

Any decent tire store will program them for a lot less than a dealer. Unless you mount them yourself that should be part of the cost of mounting them wherever you take it.
