I had a similar issue with the light in the dash staying on. Discount Tire said I needed a couple new sensors, which I bought and they installed but did nothing for the light in the dash. They said they would 'sync' after driving for a while but they didn't. Just recently got new tires from Big-O and they got the sensors(same ones that were on my other wheel/tire setup) to 'sync' with the truck. No more light on in the dash.

You would think they would be in the same unit, but .... they aren't.

swapped my tires a few months back and mix of new and previous sensors and the guys could no get them to connect (some were connected prior) so I have been driving with the light on. Annoying honestly, just need to find someone that knows what they are doing i guess.

Having the same issue, a tire shop that always programmed my tires cannot get them to sync up. Worked fine for years switching back and forth between summer and winter, now either the truck, or the programmer is having issues.

Go to Discount tire. They have a hand held scanner that they hold near each tire and can wirelessly read the data transmitted by each sensor. Data transmitted= good sensor. No data transmitted=bad sensor. From there, assuming they know what they're doing, they can program your truck to recognize your sensors.

Yah funny think is 3/5 used to be programmed to my truck and I swapped all of them at one point. So figured going back they would have to reprogram/learn. They showed up on the scanner but they could get it to associate. Do you know if your websites even showed up? If not battery could be dead as they do have a shelf life. If they did I chop it up to the tech. I haven’t tried a new spot and just live with it for now. I’ll prob try americas tire or the wheels works that does my alignments (he’s on point with aftermarket setups)

Yah you would think that. The last place 4wp since that’s where I bought the tires could read but the truck wouldn’t accept them. A few people tried, I still figure they didn’t do something right but at least they refunded me on the couple new sensors I bought.

That sure sounds like the easier option!

My Prerunner is a 08 with almost 240k miles.
Hopefully I retire in less than 7 months and I won't be needing my "work' truck after that.
I drive on the Texas toll roads around 75 MPH.
I recently bought another set of Firestone tires and I have the road hazard warranty that covers the tires for most anything, even destroyed tires from lossing air rapidly at highway speeds and not being able to stop in time.
So is it even worth worry about getting the sensors checked and replaced, just unplug that box and keep a check on the tire pressure the old fashioned way?
