Certainly may have missed it but have been looking for a thread to answer a question and can't find it so posting up for anyone that may be able to help.

2020 TRD OR - are there any TPMS that will fit this truck that have flexible rubber valve stems? I recently ordered what I thought were OEM and they are "rubber" looking but not flexible item # 42607-04020. I want to avoid breaking them when off roading.

    Appreciate any insight!

I have seen dual holes in some rims; one for the TPMS which was protected within the spokes or closer to the center of the rim and another for the true valve stem located towards the outside of the rim. Perhaps you might want to try that option, I have considered doing this.

imo.....it looks both styles are metal, and the difference is one has rubber on the valve part.......so rubber covered one might flex more which is good and i think it would take alot of force to break both types

I had the second type previously. Since it's rubber where it mounts in the rim, there is some flex. Enough to prevent being ripped off by a rock? I don't know. They are also longer.

    Thanks all for chiming in!

I did hear from the company I purchased the Rubber ones from called TPMS Deals - and they said "No, sorry ALL TPMS sensor stems have a brass core, otherwise the sensor would have nothing to attach to. These do flex once in the valve stem and you should not have your tires so low that at any point a rock or obstacle would be able to go that far into the barrel of the wheel." Not sure these guys understand how wheeling works but that is the answer - they are all brass core, so no flex. They all will break off just like it happened to me working my way through a rock garden last year around 20 PSI.

I guess my other option is to band the TPMS sensors to the hub and run a true rubber valve stem. I may go that route. Thanks again!

That’s correct. I’ve had rocks totally pull the standard old fashioned rubber valve stems completely out and sometimes even crush the metal threaded area flat.
