i am purchasing wheels for my 09 trd sport. i don't think the tpms will fit the new wheel. i was thinking about making a pressurized vessel. Do i put all the gauges in vessel or can i leave the spare alone. any ideas would help. thanks:)

There are lots of threads on this but here is a bump maybe someone will chime in for you :)
Also depending on what model year you have, you might not have a sensor in the spare.
So let us know what model year too.

I just changed my wheels out and I was thinking of doing the same. Thing is is my tpms didn't come on :notsure:. It came on when I aired down for offroading.

I have 09 SR5 TRD sport double cab. I think it would be a pain in the a$$ to try to find new sensors and have them programed to my truck, also the expense. I was looking at the aluminum Black Rock series type D wheels from 4 Wheel Parts. From what i have been reading i don't think i can switch sensors to new wheels.:D

Most new aftermarket wheels will accept the toyota alloy sensors.

Also, in reference to your first question, 09's don't have a sensor in the spare.

    Call the wheel manufacturer.

I called BBS to ask them before I bought my wheels off craigslist. They were happy to help.

4 wheel parts has a reputation for not knowing wtf they are talking about, so I'd tend to believe the exact opposite of what they told you.

Tire shop likely won't know without looking at the wheel in person. Like I said your best bet is to call the manufacturer.
