I want to run 2 sets of different tires/wheels.... one for the spring and summer and one for the winter (more aggressive thread ) ... I don't want to add the Tpms to the winter set .. will that cause an issue... ?

    Thanks

Your light will be on, but that's about it.

I have three sets of wheels & tires for my 2014 Tacoma. Only one set (the OEM set) has TPMS. Other than the light being on for most of the year, there are no problems.

You could always make a tpms capsule! Then you won't have to worry about a light.

As others have said, only the annoyance of the nanny light.

I'd like to meet the inventor someday and :smack:

There will be lots of folks along soon to tell me how wonderful things like this are. Don't care. I'm willing to be responsible for my own stuff.

if I had to guess, judging by the picture, its a capsule you put ur tpms sensors in, and pressurize it to stock psi and keep in under the seat. just an educated guess tho

All 4 (or 5 on year models that had a spare sensor)?

Assuming the ECU looks for multiple registrations. So when the batteries in the sensors die, what's the next step? I mean I can guess a few options, just wondering what your plan is.

They're all four in there. I traded my original 2012 but kept the wheels. The tech simply registered the sensors to the new truck. When they die, I'll cut it open and replace them, I suppose.

Be sure to check you tube and such. There are hacks out there for battery replacements, even though they are sealed units. Being in the tube would negate any risk of the reassembled unit coming undone inside your tire.

I'm ok with mine now, but have no interest in messing with them when dead. I may just pull the warning bulb out. Or put a black out condom on it, assuming the bulb being out of the circuit might make the system unhappy.
