I have an Ultragauge and the max I see at WOT is 80.8% for my TPS%.

I don't think it's accurate. Doubt it isn't wide open though.

The ultragage reads directly off the canbus so it's most likely right...the truck is supposed to go into open loop at WOT as well correct? Mine stays in closed loop...I stayed in it for while as well.

    Fly by wire.

The ECU reads the pedal position as well as the engine operating parameters and uses that to determine the appropriate throttle position.

Is this when you're driving? Or key on engine off?

Truck should be in open loop at warm up(for the first minute). Then closed loop with normal driving. It may go to open loop at wide open throttle but not all vehicles do that.

When driving. Ultragauge stays off until engine is running unless I change the settings.

Hmmm...interesting. Sometimes the ECM will prevent the throttle plate from going 100% WOT.

Here's a quick test to see if everything is working properly. When you put your foot down to the floor, try starting the truck. The engine will NOT start if the pedal is at 100% throttle. If the ECM recognizes 100%, it won't start. If it does start, the ECM isn't recognizing 100% throttle.

question. since our trucks are drive by wire. there has to be a wide open throttle restrictor correct? How do we figure out how to turn it off. I have heard of guys driving nissans doing this.

The throttle is just a butterfly valve. At 70%, it might as well be 100%, cuz there isn't much restriction after that point. So really no need to be concerned.
