I have a modification I need to do to the fuel tank to eliminate the “burp”. So, having it down and out for the rear frame boxing makes it even easier.

Is this one of the "earlier" Long Range Offroad tanks that had the issues?

Yes. It’s #2(or 3, it’s hard to really tell). I have a fix for the issue. It’s a simple fix really. I decided to not actually bother with it today as too many other things were happening and I didn’t want to slow down their progress.

Those factory loaded bushings are a limiting factor at the moment. As well as the need for some spacer on the rear tires as well as the bump stops. This is more flex than the truck will probably ever see on the trail, as I am not building it to be a “crawler”; more of a “mall’er”. But, hot damn, that’s sexy!

When do the air bumps go on?

Right after you get done with the 4 link. The tanks already out. Just sell it and get a 32g fuel cell. Easy peasy. lol

The LRA fuel tank is 33.5 gallons. It’s a super tight fit. I just finished installing it back in, but, I was too rushed and forgot to plug in the sending unit harness... I think I’ll tackle it tomorrow morning. It’s too damn hot out.

And I would love to link the rear. But I think I would have to upgrade the rear differential and housing for the type of fun that can be had with a linked rear axle.

I totally understand. I've thought about it so many times but if I go that direction I might as well just build a tube buggy that can do exactly what I want it too. It's only time and money. lol

Yeah man. This truck has different goals than being a rock spider.

When the flatbed is done and the Vagabond Outdoors Nomad camper is on, the interior build our completed... The list goes on. Who am I kidding it will never be finished.

But I do plan to atleast take it to Baja next year. Hopefully down a little further to Costa Rica to go visit a college buddy. Also, someday get to the southern end of Argentina.

Rad man. Having goals like that is what it's all about. Torres del Paine is very high on my list of places to get too. As grand as the Valley is Patagonia makes it look like a speed bump.

Exactly. It’s a trip that’s been in the back of my head since High School when I read about it in a Nat Geo magazine.

Can the frame boxing be done with the bed in place?

Nice meeting you a few weeks ago. It's a bummer I could not check out your Tacoma more. Definitely wanted to check it out more. Dang Drifter install got me too excited...

BTW, your low profile shark fin worked great!

It wa a great meeting you as well!

I understand the excitement of watching a new Drifter being born. I have an uncanny knack for showing up just as they are stating the install process.

I think removing the bed is a must when installing the frame boxing kit. Having the bed off allows you to get all the wiring loom up and out of the way as well as giving in fettered access to some already tight spots.

I’m glad the antenna kit is working. Those little buggers are hard to design and get to fit correctly.

Front coil overs are headed up to Rock and Road in Loomis for a rebuild.

Ordered the Total Chaos Expedition Series LCA’s.

Ordered Durobumps for the entire truck(haven’t used them before, so this will be something I’ll keep my eyes on).

Mocking up rear crossmember replacement. This will allow me to finally install my dual compressor setup. Which will also allow me to connect my front locker.

Fiddling around with a new mock-up for an overhead console idea.

And about to remove the interior for a bunch of electrical upgrades.

    It never ends...

Any special way you mounted those lights on your bumper? I’m going to assume you just drilled through the bumper to mount them.
