Do not worry TW people. I arranged for the install in the first place and it is embedded software in his onboard computer, using the onboard GPS transmitter.

You should see what CarPlay downloaded from his email accounts!

you guys crack me up. Im outside walking around in the dark without a shirt on, checking the odb2 port in my 3 day old truck in the garage. Of course there was nothing in the port however there WAS a sticker on the overhead console telling me that the vehicle has tracking turned on by default and if I want it turned off I have to press the red phone button.

Just like the yo-yo/spot delivery agreement that is buried in most sales order that most people never bother with until the get a call from the dealership a month later.

The lojack one says Sperion on it. But looks very similar. Im imagine its a similair device. If its just 2 wire its just taking power and sending your location and battery voltage to the mothership. If its more than 3 wire then its more tied into the actual OBD.

On mine, I found it in the paperwork under a 5yr "subscription". I refused to pay it, so they ended up paying for it but wouldnt remove the device.

I pulled mine and stuck it in a motorcycle. That way if I break down my wife can find me. Heck the service is paid for, might as well use it for my purposes.
