This is the link. Anyone replace 'YOURVIN' with their actual VIN. No spaces, dashes, or emojis.
    https://guest.dealer.toyota.com/v-spec/YOURVIN/detail

VIN can be lowercase or uppercase in the URL. I feel lowercase has always gotten me better results, and the weather outside is also a factor.

    Step-by-step Bad instructions:
    -
navigate to page. replace vin. open browser debugger. open network traffic. clear. refresh.

    - search for one like this:
    - click and open response json.

    If you see...

Page you are looking for is not found!
    - You've entered an invalid or temporary VIN (temp VIN might? work, probably not tho).
    - The Toyota Dealer or Toyota Region has hidden the vehicle from this tool.
I see this more commonly on Southeast Toyota VINs. Probably has something to do with how they tack-on add-ons, or want to hide the original build/printout (guesses, throwing shade).
    - The vehicle has been purchased. My VIN page was no longer available after I purchased my vehicle.
    - Other reasons? (idk bruh)

Activated my trial subscription of Remote Services through the Toyota App today. The messages I received said I have to activate them through the touchscreen on the vehicle so can't do that until I get the vehicle. Where is everyone seeing the mileage, tire pressure, etc? Maybe it will just show up when the truck is actually built. Build date is March 5 according to my sales rep.

Wow this was awesome, thank you for taking the time to do it! The F status makes sense since he briefly mentioned it being at the port. I will be checking it daily via the info you provided. Thanks again, i really appreciate it!

Vehicles are assigned a TempVIN when they are scheduled for production. If the one they gave you has a letter in the last 6 digits, it is a TempVIN. The TempVIN is used in scheduling the parts necessary, paint color, etc so that they are available on the production line on day of production. That's why you can see the vehicle configuration when you load the TempVIN into the Toyota site and get a build sheet.

An actual VIN is not assigned until the truck physically goes into production on the assembly line. At that point, the TempVIN is eliminated from the system. Once off the line, the VIN will be available to the dealer and the vehicle is processed for transport to the Regional Port and then on to the selling dealership.

So, do you have a TempVIN (a letter in any of the last 6 digits) or a VIN (all numbers in the last 6 digits)?

My guess is that they gave you the TempVIN of a vehicle they were allocated and has been scheduled for production on MAR 9. If that's the case, your truck will have a slightly different VIN when it is built (last 6 digits will be all numbers).

If they gave you an actual VIN then it has already been built and is in transport. Perhaps the truck is estimated to arrive on MAR 9th. Or, they have a similar truck scheduled for production on MAR 9th and that's the truck you will get - which will have a different VIN.

It's 4:30 and I've only had one cup of coffee - does this make sense to you?

    TempVIN or VIN?

You're absolutely right, I was able to follow the "hacker" instructions lol to look at the code. I was very confused as to what yall were talking about on the website at first. But ya it does have one letter in the last 6. I looked at the code and it does have a "true" value for TempVin. Thanks for clarifying everything. Luckily mine does say dealerHold so I feel a little more secure in my purchase now.

And that made perfect sense! Thanks again. Maybe you can answer my last question too lol. I asked about adding the advanced package to the build even tho I already have the tech package. They said they could try to request/allocate it into the build. Do you think that was bs? I dont care either way, I was just trying to get all the options as my first request was a TRD PRO but we all know how hard and expensive those are right now.

Good news there. It looks like they are giving you good info on the production.

A friend of mine was VP of the dealership where I bought my truck. He knew I wanted an AG Pro but I was originally planning on getting the truck around May 2020. He received an allocation for one in Dec of 2019 with a projected build date of something like January 22. He took it and put my name on it figuring that he knew he could easily sell it if I didn't want it. He didn't say anything to me but things worked out that I could take an earlier delivery and when I reached out to him he told me the truck was about 3 weeks from production.

The truck was ordered as a stock AG AT Pro with only the TRD Air Filter added (a Port installed option). I was considering getting the OEM tonneau and asked about changing the order. He told me it was "possible" but recommended against it given the impending production date and told me that a late change, if it is even accepted, might delay the production. It was especially risky since they only ran a limited number of AG color trucks every few months. So, I opted to not change anything. For me, it was easy to get a different bed tonneau.

So, I would guess that, based on my friend's experience, your dealership is being honest with you. You should certainly ask them about the possibility since the option you want can only be added at the factory. The question will be is it worth holding up the production for it? And, if it is even possible for them to change the allocation since dealerships are often tied to specific vehicle configurations allocated to each Region. You really can't just "build" a custom vehicle by choosing the potential options from the Toyota web page. Types, colors and configurations are allocated regionally based on sales and market trends, and then sub-allocated to the dealerships based on sales volume. Make sense?

Ya that is exactly what I was thinking, I don't wanna delay it any further being that my current vehicle is on its last leg. The dealer told me that they weren't sure it could be added but that they would put in the request. They told me the easiest thing to change is the color, not sure if I believe that but was interesting to hear as Ive been searching for this truck all over the country for the options and LR I wanted. I think I'll call them today and see what they say and let them know that I really don't want to push back the production date any further just to get the extra camera options. I think adding the front camera myself later on will be enough of what I am looking for.

Once you're on that page you have to inspect the html code and then select the file that is listed with your vin number. Then you can see the eta or any info available

Hope this pic helps. Most mobile browsers don't seem to have dev tools. A full desktop browser is probably needed.

@ryanma How did you get it to work? I'm also at the point in the app where it says I need to enter the Activation Code into the screen in the vehicle...and my vehicle is still on a train or truck somewhere Lol

Thanks so much for this. So helpful. Questions: I don't see the "eta" field under "seating" or anywhere else? Also, what does it mean if some of the “options” are "false" and some are "true"? Thanks again!

Second the VERY HELPFUL comment - matches what the dealer told me. The Toyota tracker does not show F status, but this does and so does the screen shot from the dealer. It also shows that "isPresold:true" at the bottom

Also thanks to LunarRockV - the "Dealer Hold" is comforting as the dealership switched hands back in March (and are rebuilding the entire dealership) and I am wanting to keep them focused. To that end, I had stopped by the dealership to see the sales person face-to-face after the order and to make sure all was well, he stated "Why are you here?" - funny, I guess most would not show up in person.

Mine isn’t a dealer hold, but is listed as pre sold. I guess that should be ok?
