Great system, installed them on my AC. Super clean, just wish the end caps were more secure with maybe a screw wedge. They pop off in a car wash.

In my opinion, this is how the stock tacoma rack SHOULD have been mounted. Not a set of through holes that can ingress water into the cab.

And how would you secure the track to the roof?
I installed factory racks on my 06 and they haven't leaked in 12+ years.

Wait so how do these tracks attach? I was under the impression they use the stock mounting holes

I would imagine they do. There are riv-nuts in the roof already and covered with those stickers that have the VIN on them.

The front, back and middle holes use a stock Rivnut installed by the factory. The other four attachment points are drilled in the ditch and attached with steel pop rivets.

It is in the same ditch that they put the Rivnuts in, simple 5mm drill bit, silicone and your all sealed and have the ability to change bar spread and size plus increased weight limit. But drilling is not always everyone's cup of tea. I can take better pics on next installation if your interested.

Would definitely be interested in some more pics. Even if its just for the sake of getting more info out there for everyone. I know there are folks on here who would like this as an option. I just dont have the balls to drill my roof lol

Do the rivets get backed up with washers inside?

These bolt in using the same holes. What I am saying is the tracks should have been factory designed to be a channel like that and integrated into the roof structure.

I figured as much. You also mentioned drilling holes and installing four steel rivets. Do you back these rivets up inside with a washer before they are riveted?

No additional washers are used, the bolts used into the factory points really hold the tracks down and the rivets help secure even more. Testing with this installation has been done by Rhino down under for years as this track has been around on the Hilux for years.

Not really necessary as the ditch metal is already several layers thick. It already has "washer" material out the wazoo.

Found this thread while looking around for ditch mount track solution. Can the tracks be bought from your company for install by owner? I couldn't find them on the site.

    How much if so, please?
