    Frustrated Tacoma owner here,

I believe my truck is suffering from axel wrap and I am looking to purchase traction bars to help reduce this "clunky" feeling during acceleration and primarily deceleration. However, from what I have read axel wrap occurs during acceleration, the clunk I feel is more of a downshift clunk usually before I come to a stop... so not sure there. I have also heard that ladder bars help, whats the difference between the two and in your opinion would either of these modifications help eliminate the clunk I am feeling?

    None as of yet
That's the transmission shifting into first from what I gather from other threads. Also has been ruled a normal characteristic of the truck.

Axle wrap is your leaf springs twisting from the force put on them during acceleration. Traction bars are designed to stop that twisting and keep the ass planted on heavy acceleration

Yes, it was a quart low. The tech also reset the learning module, so by the time my truck learned my driving the problem was either back or still existent, so I wasn't able to tell if that fixed my problem.
