Id recommend finding another option, probably from a different truck. Had this trac bar for a little over a year, the bushings started to go and it was making my ride much bouncier than normal despite trying to adjust my shocks to make up for it. It also bent the crossmember that it mounts to on my truck, not past the point of elastic deformation but it did take a good knock and hit the bottom of the cab. Not a huge deal since it bent back by itself, and because the crossmember only holds the carrier bearing and the carrier bearing can be adjusted, but the design on the budbuilt trac bar is not adequate.

Most likely, yeah. I wouldn't think it would cost more than that

Why not SUA with a leaf pack that has a anti-wrap half leaf?
Ladder bars just seem wrong on a 4x4 truck, IMO

Yeah to be honest they just look badass but I am just getting my ducks in order for boost

I’ll start with cab mount chop, clutch and flywheel

Don't even need the anti-wrap half leaf, SUA alone does enough. Im running the Archive Garage setup with SUA, hammer hangers, bed cross bar, and high strike plates for air bumps. No appreciable axle wrap with this setup even after removing the T bar, plus the ride is much improved with the increase in suspension travel

We have leaf springs. No reason to have a traction bar.

Should have very little of that. Guys are are wheeling hard with SOA to include myself with no issues.

axle wrap happens when launching, not wheeling. It would be most apparent as a hop accompanied with a skipping tire skid pulling away from a stoplight, along with greatly reduced power

Yup should be very little of that. Guys are running lower gears and applying more torque to the rear without issue.

If anything just upgrade the leaf pack.

Already went SUA to fix the issue I was having with axle wrap personally. Just for the record, its mostly the lack of torque that causes the issue here. The motor doesnt have quite enough torque to properly launch the taco and the result is that the rear wheels dont cleanly break free, they intermittently break free. Combine this with leaf springs and what you get is a lot of wheel hop and axle wrap. It can be fixed by 1) adding a traction bar 2) going SUA 3) adjustable shocks can dampen the oscillations and make things much smoother, maybe even legit eliminate it as well.

Ya that’s super weird, I know it happens but should be rare. I plan to go to a SUA sometime, I never liked SOA designs.

What are traction bars going to do to benefit a Pro? Some people are removing their sway bars for better flex. I wouldn’t have even thought a Tacoma has enough torque, even when boosted, to use those.

    Not criticizing, just curious...

Its not the motor having torque thats the issue, its the other way around. The motor has too LITTLE torque, and the wheels, tires, lift, length of driveshafts, terrible factory gearing, etc is too much to overcome. The traction bars attempt to make the rear end more rigid so it is easier to send power through, however, as I mentioned before it is a better solution to spend the same money upgrading your leaf springs to SUA big leaf packs if you really want that performance. You get the flex to handle offroad with the rigidity to handle power.
