Pretty much. Glad I only paid $150 for four of them so far. If they approve this second warranty claim I'll have six to bust up. I'm curious how long and how many they are willing to warranty for one person.

That won't happen. I don't go anywhere alone that would get me so stuck I can't get out with what I carry. Even cracked the TREDs still work fine, and if they send two more I have spares. They will be replaced with better products in time but they work well enough as an additional tool for now.

youd be foolish if you only depend on the recovery boards.

always have more than one option for recovery.

buy something that wont break. Like a normal person would.

Thats like saying, My truck is paid for, but every time i use it, it breaks, and i have to wait for the parts to fix it. but what are you gonna do.

If they broke in half and no longer functioned, sure. A crack does not make the TRED no longer provide traction to the tire. A normal person would not throw away money because of a mostly cosmetic failure when the proof of continued functionality is there.

except that if it cracks in one place, it could crack in others. I have seen MOUNDS of broken treads when i was in the northeast. In half, longways, chunks, etc. Not second hand, but firsthand watching them break. Those and the smittybuilt ones.

Obviously it could crack in more places, that's why I don't rely on TREDs alone as the sole method to recover a vehicle. Once they are no longer functional they will be replaced. If the company chooses to continue to send me new ones at no cost then I will continue to use them. If they decide I'm breaking too many to warranty they will be replaced with a reliable solution like Maxtraxs.
