Hey yall, im a new member here but ive been browsing the fourms for awhile. I've decided to go ahead and ask about this, i have a 2012 dcsb with 6speed at 4k miles i picked up new in august last year. I'm stationed in alaska so the roads have been icy/snowy for the past 5 months or so and whenever i start out from a stop in an icy spot in 2wd it the rear end of the truck jerks and makes a clunking sounds. This is the only truck i've owned with traction control so is this normal? it annoys the hell out of me and makes me wonder if somethings wrong, im tired of being jerked around everytime i try to drive anywhere. this problem is non existent in 4wd even when my tires are slipping.

Turn off the traction control and see if the problem still occurs in 2WD

    yeah that sounds normal

You have Turd OR, so you have autoLSD. enable autoLSD.
    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------
with traction control and 2wd, you still need to drive like a granny,
or when it slips on patches of ice and snow (such as the passenger side
cuffing snowbanks) it will do this slip/skid, especially if you are fat on the gas

you have the VSC button, hit it, so AutoLSD is active and lit, this will
stop the engine slowing function of TRAC and will smooth
it out when you have patchy snow and ice

it is the engine cut function of full VSC and TRAC which makes it stutter...
very safe system when you do not expect ice, but when you know it is snowy
or icy and just want to drive, turn off VSC and it behaves smoother

Normal the back end is light the wheels slip when it's slick it's doing what it was designed to do actually works pretty well lighten up on the gas.
