There's times I like the nanny, there's times I don't. I was moving fast on a dirt road in Utah last year, I mean MOVING, thought I knew the road, but no I didn't, came upon a surprise 90 degree turn. I was doing 60 mph in 4HI, and I hit the brakes hard. I really do believe if it wasn't for the VSC and the ABS I would have gone right through that corner and into the ditch. I slammed on the brakes and put the clutch in, and I felt OK, the brakes were pulsing, the steering felt manageable, I downshifted out of sixth into 4th. I liked the nanny that day.

No what I am saying is you are retarded and can't figure out how to use the systems so you take the cop out and cut the wires to disable it.

So....basicly I am say I am smarter than you because I understand how the systems operate and I am able to adjust my driving style to compensate for them and not whine like a little bitch like you.

You give Canadians a bad name.

Wow! That's crazy! I wish I knew how the computer was going to make my truck react every time. you must have special powers!

I agree that it will help a lot of people that aren't the best drivers.

So when you say you adjust your driving to suit the system... You drive on paved roads everywhere you go and never drive in a way that will cause a tire to loose traction? The system is too sensitive and restrictive to do any type of driving other than "grocery getting grandma" type driving.

If you fight the system it's going to fight back. Let it do it's thing and they work. Most people do not know how to control a sliding truck so the system does it for them.

    1) It shouldn't do that

    2) yes have VSC recalibrated at a dealer and tested (sensor diagnostics)

Well, lets look at it this way - the World Rally Car guys loved their electronic nannies like VSC, ABS back in 2010 because it was so much easier to drive fast on loose traction surfaces. They removed all the nannies in 2011, said ABS, traction control, etc, made it "too easy" to drive the cars. Doesn't that tell you something, like maybe it's good to have the nannies?

You have to learn where your threshold is for when the ABS kicks in. I have to mash pretty hard on the brakes to get the ABS to kick in, I can feather the brakes just fine and avoid the ABS.

VSC, well, that can be a PITA. Yeah, I agree the VSC is too sensitive.

In fact there's times where even the best race drivers in the world wished they had ABS. Trying to correct a slide while at the same time downshifting and pumping the brakes is absolutely not an ideal situation.

I'm not talking about ABS. Nobody can brake better than the ABS system can. But the Trac control can't determine all factors that the driver knows or see's ahead of them. Like I said before, some people that don't have the best driving skills or that are oblivious to anything other than themselves while on the road do need this system.

    Don't blame Toyota.

"The NHTSA requires all new passenger vehicles to be equipped with ESC by 2012 and estimates it will prevent 5,300–9,600 annual fatalities once all passenger vehicles are equipped with the system."

It's the government that is cramming this down our throats.

I would also like to turn my mower on and off as I would like instead of a kill bar. I'm smart enough to not stick my hand down the shoot or foot under the deck.

I know how to use wood cutting equipment without a kick guard. It gets in the way. I've been using equipment for 40 years without a problem. The kick guards just get in the way.

What about forced helmet laws. We should have the right to not wear them. (But insurance should not cover injuries if you aren't wearing one, IMO).

There are tons of other policies to keep the masses so called "safe". It's the government not the manufactures.

    Who's talking about ABS ?

The OP is talking about VSC over-sensitivity caused by his lift

Had a chance to read this now

Just shows your lack of reading comprehension , the OP is complaining of VSC overreaction that can be attributed to his lifting without re-calibrating the system , I responded to him with my experiences with the same situation

You posted that the system is for retards and that you like it

    :notsure:
