Hey tacoma world got a question for you guys and gals. Recently I brought my truck to the shop to fix the steering. Turns out both my bolts that run through the leaf springs were sheared and were not holding things together properly, allowing for my rear axle to move slightly. Had the shop fix that and everything is much better with my steering. However my traction control light stays on while I drive. Or at least some times it stays on while I drive. It's the light that is a square and has the squiggly lines under it. The one that turns on when traction control kicks in. Not sure what's going on with that. When that light is on it also won't allow me to put it in auto lsd. Not sure what's going on.

Think that might be the VSC (Vehicle Stability Control) light. Sounds to me (and I am not a Toyota Tech) like some geometry was changed and the VSC needs to get reset? It happens when people do lifts on the Tacoma, as well. I am guessing a non-Toyota dealership shop did this?

I would check to see if they accidentally cut or disconnected the mag sensors at each wheel. They measure the wheel speed for the systems. take a look underneath and see if they are loose, remove and reconnect them if they look like they were messed with. should have a nice layer of dirt if they werent touched. good luck

Well on my way home from work the light didn't turn on. I didn't touch anything. Drove it this morning and still no light anymore. Found some dirt and it seems the traction control works fine. Weird. Hopefully the light stays off and works like normal now.
