Would 09 Tacoma 2wd have VSC? I have 2 buttons left of my steering wheel, 1) the traction control squiggly lines 2) RSCA off, which I have no idea what that is. My main problem is the traction control light and check engine light are on. The steering and driving are fine. It chugs when you start it up then runs fine. My pro friends code reader says #1 cylinder misfire, still after changing the coil pack and spark plug 3 times. Any help would be appreciated thanks, tony

Yes VSC is standard on 09+

RSCA stands for Roll Sensing Side Curtain Airbag, the switch turns the roll sensing part of the airbag system off for offroading.

The Trac Off light will always accompany a CEL on Toyota with VSC, fix the CEL and the Trac Off light will go out.

Stop throwing parts at it and at least do some basic tests, a relative compression test would be a good idea to start with for a misfire.

If there was an issue with one fuel injector, would that come up on the code reader as a misfire? I’m wondering because when the engine is cold and I start it, it cranks for 5 seconds before it starts. Someone had mentioned that on a YouTube video I watched recently. Any idea?

Possibly depending on how it failed but without testing anything would be a guess.

First thing I'm doing when something comes in for a misfire is clear flood crank and see what the engine sounds like, if it sounds even with no skips then I'll move on to fuel and ignition. If it has a skip though then I'm checking compression.

Can a code reader check the compression?

    Short answer is, No.

Long answer is, Yes (kind of, sort of)
But you're looking at a $1,000+ machine, wiring diagrams, and data recording.
It's called a relative compression test. And it doesn't give you psi numbers.

No, you would need to use a gauge or scope.

You can do a quick clear flood crank (hold the gas pedal to the floor and then crank, if it does happen to start release the gas pedal) and see how it sounds cranking. It should crank evenly, if it has a "skip" while cranking you have a compression issue.
