I’m trying to figure out what is happening on occasion when I shift into reverse. Occasionally when doing so my traction control light on the instrument panel will come on briefly (~1 second) and I’ll also hear a metallic “twang”, kind of like a spring noise. Any idea what this is? Do I need to have this looked at?

I mean, it could be any number of things and without seeing your truck at all I have no idea.

I would start by taking a look at it yourself, maybe posting some pictures of 4 corners of your suspension?

Total stab in the dark, but maybe the ubolts on your rear leaf springs are loose? They have a tendency to loosen over time.

    Bump.

    Any other thoughts?

I’ll check the leaf springs and other fittings when I do my service this week or next.
