AFAIK they are still running the rough cuts the same way. All the blade kits come with new bolts and nuts just like the old ones. I got it figured out though.

I stopped at TSC and picked up some 3/4"x3" grade 8 bolts and several flat washers. It has 7/8" of shank on it. Ran a bolt up in the jumper and checked it with washers and the blade. The blade is 5/16" thick, stump jumper surround is 3/16", flat washers are 1/8" thick so that takes away 5/8" of the shank on the bolt.

I put 2 washers above the blade and 1 below and tightened it and it jammed the blade. So all I need is one washer above and one below to let the shank bottom out in the jumper threads and I think I'm good to go. May need to cut 1/2" off the bolt length.

I'll probably loc-tite the nylock nuts as well.

It's an AC Cab, umbrella would get ripped off by lift arms or trees, the heat indexes next few days will be in the 113 to 115* range.

Not normal temperatures, the May avg. temperatures was almost 9* warmer than avg, last month it was 6* warmer than average. When regions experience drought the temperatures spike, it is the 2nd driest Spring here in the past 128 years so far, waiting on June data...
    Screenshot_20220707-210845_Chrome.jpg
We're 22min North of that town and we're closer to 10 inches from normal, we have had less than 3 inches of rain this year. We had about 18inches of rainfall last year and the yearly average is 30 inches.

I think I gonna attach 1/2 plywood and maybe foil foam board to the top in addition to painting the top white.

This jack has been tight for some time. Oiled it and no help. Brought it to work to take it apart and I think I know what happened to it. Looks like it filled with water and froze.

I picked up 2 of the TSC ripper blades, a set of pins, and a new seat. The other local TSC has the other two ripper blades. I hope they fit. :fingerscrossed:

That’s exactly what happened to this jack. The threads are free as can be and it’s only swelled in the one spot. I’m gonna grind it out and weld it back together and see if I can salvage it.

It'll also be getting a hole in the bottom to let the water out and the bees in.

    Reserected from the dead.
If it's really an issue, make the hole big enough to stuff some stainless steel wool in there.

Water can come out and bees can't get in.

For that matter, how often will it sit on a hitch with the jack lifted.

Trailers are parked more than they move.

I think I'd be happy with just a drain hole.

I'm gonna drill a couple 1/4" holes in it and let it ride. It sits 99.99% of the time anyway. If bees do get in it, it won't be the first time I've been stung hitching one to the truck cause they were somewhere near the tongue/jack.

I was so excited to get this fixed I forgot to take pictures. Cleaned and greased the threads, welded the crack and ground it down, drilled two holes for drains, and fresh paint. Good as new.

Heat index is currently 110* here, the farm cats don't care if you drench them in water.

    "Good as new."
Probably better than new, drains, rebuild, greased, a good paint job - it's an heirloom worthy of the Will.
