Gotcha. I know some places around here to get parts but not there. I’m sure you could order the parts you need to fix it.

The K72 transaxle in my X500 has developed a slight leak. It seems to be coming from up high based on what parts are coated in a film of oil. I read that the fill plug will often leak on these after enough years, so I ordered one since it was only a few bucks. I can't get eyes on the plug without taking the deck off and possibly the transaxle out, but the thickest accumulation of oily grass and dirt is right around it so it seems plausible. Anyone happen to run into this on one of these? Once I have the plug and pickup some 5w-50 or hy-gard I'll dig into it.

I always just take the rear fender off to access that area on my Cubs. If it's been leaking for awhile it probably needs a good douching anyways. Grass buildup can cause the hydro to overheat.

I'd have to remove the gas tank too - it's directly on top of the transaxle. At that point it might be quicker to just remove the whole transaxle.

It sat behind my building for almost a year, I wound up cutting it apart and taking it to scrap last week.

As long as it’s reused & not in a landfill somewhere is all good just the same.

I have a tough time scrapping any straight piece of steel, I always thing "I could use that for ____" even though I rarely get around to building anything.... :anonymous:

I will even find ways around using that scrap piece. Well, the scrap piece is 30" long but I also have those 4 pieces 8" long that are welded to that other piece I saved. I could save that scrap piece by tripling the time it takes to build it by...
