I see you've gotten the same rain we've gotten the past week or two, I need to mow again.

Yeah gotta make the most of back and forth approaches or 6 pt turns, hahaha. We tore it up knowing it needs grading, and top soil mixed in this late summer/early fall, so it allowed us to really see how to lessen the impact/tearing surfaces up.

Graded the road and shredded both sides so the Ol man would have an easy path to set up his RV.

And who needs a thumb? Actually, me. I could use a thumb. It'd save some paint on my boom.

    Evenin' fella's!

So, while this is a "tractor and mower" discussion I figured I'd share my little mod to my Echo weed-eater. It edges great turned on its left side (I have a good bit of sidewalk and driveway to do), but I have run troubles doing so. It will bog down and stall within 10 minutes or so. I thought the vent was getting plugged with fuel so I had the bright idea to extend the vent a little bit. Added a vacuum hose coupling and some new line to extend the vent up and sideways.

Fired it up and went trimming. Was running great, probably 20 minutes plus. I was happy and thought I had it fixed. No, no I didn't :rofl:Turns out when I first started I had a full tank. As it went on I was going through fuel quick. After several choice words at it I finished. Defeated I took another look at it. Turns out the fuel pick-up is more to the right side and was eventually starving itself of fuel :facepalm:So, likely I'll just shorten the fuel line. Well, there was an attempt...

Had the same scenario happen when a customer rented one of our trimmers. On it's side and the pickup is off to the other. Usually there's enough line in there to angle it the other way if you choose to do so. Just worked on an SRM 225 today that wasn't revving up. Finally checked the spark arrestor and...ta daaaa

Yea I'll tinker with it and get it going the other way. I typically trim more to the left side anyways.

I had a Stihl one time that wouldn't rev up or run worth a damn. Same thing, spark arrestor was clogged. Turns out the racing castor oil I was using was producing too much carbon. Still ran that stuff for many years to use it up (I can be a tightwad sometimes...) but I've been using the Echo Red Armor recently and I have the say it's pretty good stuff!
