    which Kohler?

The Command Kohlers have always started great for me, The other versions seem to be more touchy.

This one on the welder is a 20hp, it’s the one that’s hard to start.

The one on the mower starts great. I assume it’s around the same HP. No decal on it.

Kohler on my Wheelhorse was always hard to start. Carb needles were 1.5 turns out. I looked up the specs and low speed was supposed to be 2.5, hi side 3.5. Starts and runs like a top now.

Markets big for used commercial ZT's!

Sold both of mine today, need to hunt up another project, post haste!.

It's much easier just driving them off the table onto the customers trailer.PXL_20210821_181033602.jpg PXL_20210821_181423735.jpg

Good choice on getting a bigger machine. From the Palmer Divide to Elizabeth, the snow and drifts can really put a damper on leaving your property for a week or so.

I have some buddies off Woodpecker Lane in Elizabeth and they have needed to be dug out more than once.

Hah, if you think that welder/generator is hard to start try one fueled with propane! We have the exact same engine on the one at work and it's an absolute bear to get to start.

Funny "story" on that one. It had been sitting in our parts cage unused for quite some time. The cart it's sitting on had all rotten tires and tubes. Replaced them all and then got the bur up my behind to get the ol' thing running. Hooked it up to the battery charger on nuke and let it rip. Fired up and ran fine, but wouldn't stop with the switch. Perplexed at this I just turned the propane off. I printed out wiring diagrams and all sorts of stuff. Had a dumb moment and realized it needs to sense being in a complete "flat" state before it shuts off. Oof... o_O

The little Kubota did a lot for a little tractor, BUT we have over 1/2 mile of driveway to deal with and just needed more horsepower so I could up the size of my snow blower. We do get some dandy drifts from time to time.

I have never had any issues starting my engines after setting for extended periods (over the winter months included) using regular pump gas (with ethanol). I DO keep my tanks totally full when the engines are setting. I fill after each use, and over winter I treat with Stabil.
In addition I never store my gas cans in the sunlight. I also am consistent with starting my 2-strokes every couple of months whether they are used or not.

Morning everyone. Thought I would share some pictures with the annual mowing at our family cabin. We mow the fields once a year, just let the grass lay due to a Federal grasslands program we were enrolled in. Program just expired and it's like pulling teeth to get back in. Happy Sunday all!
